I'm seeing Rush again next Monday (30th) on the second leg of their Snakes and Arrows tour. If you haven't seen them, treat yourself to this tour! They are in top form, and Geddy's voice is sounding better than it has in decades. You won't see a classic rock/prog rock group sound this good again. They're in their 50s, and though they promise another studio CD, I'm not sure how much longer they can keep this going. Three rock virtuosos at the peak of their careers . . . man, you just can't beat Rush. The prices for the lawn in Cinci are dirt cheap: $150 for four of us, including all the extras they throw in. We're getting there a couple hours early to stake our claim right at the front of the lawn. But the place is ridiculously small, so even the back of the lawn is pretty close. There's a big playground for the kids to play on while we're waiting. And I'll probably be drinking beer.

I heartliy second what Malik said. I'm seeing Rush tonight in Milwaukee at Summerfest and am expecting nothing less than a fantastic show (again!). Rock on, Geddy, Alex and Neil!!!!

Sorry about the double posting.....
So the Rush show last night was, again, incredible. These guys never let up. It rained for a bit before hand but stopped by showtime. They were playing "Freewill" as the sun was setting, and the light and the rain clouds were just perfect, so we all got to see a double rainbow over lake Michigan - very cool.
It was pretty much the same set as last summer, but I didn't mind a bit. (I think "Ghost of A Chance" was a new addition this time around.) Just excellent rock music for nearly three hours. Perfect.
Of course, it took forever to get back home - traffic, construction, etc... so I didn't get in until about 1:30am - just exhuasted. But so totally worth it.

MR, glad you enjoyed it. Yes, it's basically the same show as last year, except Ghost of a Chance is new. I think 2 other substitutions are new, as well. I'm disappointed they took Circumstances out of the set list--that song rocks!
Seeing them in two days. I can't wait!
How is Ged's voice holding out? Last year, he blew me away on the high part after the solo on Freewill.

His voice was spot on! He sounded great the whole way through. (Yup - even the 3rd verse to Freewill!).
Yeah, now in retrospect (meaning - looking at the set list from the new live cd) I remember they added a couple others that they didn't play last year. Red Barchetta and The Trees were both back in. Initally though, those didn't stike me as being "new" additions - since I'm used to hearing them play those two on past tours.
Yeah, Circumstances was out, as was Entre Nous and Secret Touch. Too bad on all three counts - though Ghost of A Chance was really good.
The "vault" - type tune that is consistantly blowing me away everytime is Between The Wheels. Wow, does that one sound great!

went to see Seth Lakeman tonight - English ( I know I know!) folk singer/fiddler extraordinaire.Was a good night. I've got a hyper gf to deal with cos she fancies the pants off Seth and managed to meet him afterwards and got a hug and signature on her tab book and poster.

Saw the Eagles again last night......
It's a sad thing that at 40, I was one of the youngest people there.......
It was Joe Walsh's birthday, so I was expecting it to be awesome. I ended up disappointed. Joe reminded me why he's one of my favorite guitar players. The guy's just fantastic, but he's totally neutered within the framework of the Eagles.
And oh boy is Don Felder missed. The guy that replaced him added nothing to the band. He just played Don's parts as though he was playing along with the albums.
I'm glad I saw them again, but this'll be my last time.

That was my second time. First time was outdoors in a castle courtyard when I was 19yo, lots of people, lots of fun. This time was in a great small intimate venue (200 people) and was even better. Met him before, after, and next morning, which was nice too!
