I just had it happen in my PM box. Two PMs I read earlier today where showing as unread and causing the notification window to pop up whenever I changed pages (just happened to be the two PMs from you earlier today, murrin).

So, it's obviously Murrin's fault and he's infected your Inbox (must be his cool new Avatar)

It's not happening to me...this topic marked unread before I read it, and read after.
Is it ongoing for you Murrin?

The problem seems to have gone now. Don't know if it's just from something as simple as being in a new session.

It always happens to me at around 11pm. Might be something to do with servers.

5 to 6 pm for me, Eastern Standard Time. (Would be 10-11 Eire Time.) I've mentioned a few times that there's an issue related to time-of-day.

I'm noticing a pattern here...Vain reappears...Watchers bombard this thread with error reports...Vain disappears...

You're exaggerating. We've been talking in this thread for months without Vain having made an appearance.

Has anyone else noticed that their messages are appearing in the browser with links that they didn't insert (Forex and iphone related stuff)? I noticed in an earlier post by another poster as well.
Help?

I've not seen anything like that. Migt want to do a thorough check for malware on your PC.

Thanks, Murrin, will do. (Although I already have an paid-up anti-virus subscription.)
The first post I saw it in was
this one, then it started to turn up in my own posts. If it's malware it seems to pick up on key words like 'money'.

Just an FYI, I'm not seeing it in either post, u.
Is this on a PC, tablet, phone browser?

Yeah, either a mod's been editing posts to remove them and not mentioned it (unlikely) or you've got something inserting links into your pages on your end.

I'm on a PC, Menolly.
I'm looking at it on the forums. It's some sort of a plugin. I downloaded some poker software recently, it must have come in with that. I'll track it down now that I now what it is. Thanks guys!

[EDIT: got it! It was a browser bar called Yontoo that added itself onto Firefox. I made it invisible without removing it and it was only a few days later that the adware kicked in. Sneaky!]
