Another contest entry--this one a little more light-hearted.

...And completely useless. I'm not sure why it didn't occur to me until just now, but the event as I've written it would have no impact on the game whatsoever. Hmm. Let's pretend that, despite what the story suggests, it lasts for a month or two.

Maeror, why would such an event have no impact? Even a week of non-productivity by an entire village due to being unable to see what one another was doing could have interesting long term results.

Yes, but a dozen people out of a town isn't gonig to have much impact, if it's a week. And it certainly won't be that noticable on the larger scale of the game. The problem is that it wouldn't really affect the deity receiving the event.

If we are qualifying our contest entries here, I have two qualifications to make. First, I apologize for using a quote from the real Oracle at Delphi. At least I credited her in the story. But, I couldn't come up with my own oracular vision even if I was forced to.

Second, I hope my ideas are looked at with the potential they could have in the AllFather's hands, not based on my own stories.

Perhaps Xar will even the field a little: Melirelle might want to attack the one whose betrayal drove her husband away.

Heh. :D Ah, but that wouldn't "reveal her true allegiances." Nope, she's on my side! :D :D :D

If she was on your side, would she be launching an assault?

Heh. Whoever's side she's on, we know it's all just Xar making a little more sure the world will end as scheduled, right? Hehe.

Edit: It's funny, we didn't hear from the World Breaker this time. No between-turn actions. Could the sealing of the gate have something to do with that?

G-ds, I hope so, to both statements.

Wait...

Did Melirelle always make moves between Turns? Or were her actions usually posted in the summary or results? Has she figured out how to break the "rules" as well?

Lay your doubts to rest, in this case I merely wrote that piece after I turned in Melirelle's moves for the turn... it's just meant to give you an idea of what MIGHT come with the turn ;)

I notice you didn't address the questions of a) why the World Breaker didn't act, and b) whether you're deliberately escalating things to help destroy the world. Hehe.
