Ok, final phases of the dental process. Got my teeth prepped for the permanent crown and veneer today. It was mildly uncomfortable. Then I had the impressions done and then he put on my temporary HORSE TEETH caps. Ugh. I imagined them looking a bit less obviously fake. but it's only two weeks, shut up av, I'll damn well capitalize words when I feel like it....

As long as it didn't dampen that smile of yours.

George Washington had wooden teeth, and everybody loved him :) So it can't be that bad!

I had another epidural two days ago and it kicked in this morning  Feel great, though I know it's temporary. I got up and went nuts. Cleaned the kitchen, washed Helldog, shampooed the carpets, washed the floors, did the laundry. Spectacular!!!!

I feel like Charlie in Flowers for Algernon. I know this temporary and a few days from now I will start slipping backward. Kind of scarey. 8O Maybe it's better not to have the spinal.

You don't know what you have 'till you don't have it for a while.

Works for me. And you -- quit slipping in the bathroom.

Speaking of people I need to  at: lorin! I know it's tempting to overdo when the drugs have kicked in, but for gods' sake, woman, I'd like for you to be well enough to come to Cape Cod this fall.

Hokay, that's settled.

Spent an hour at the car dealership this morning getting my car inspected. It might have been quicker elsewhere, but the dealership sent me a coupon for a free inspection, and free is my favorite price. Then hung out with a friend for most of the day -- went to a Greek place for lunch, did a little shopping, then went to her place to knit this afternoon. A nice way to spend a rainy Saturday. 8)

Oh, I forgot! The really big news here is that Magickmaker and her soon-to-be-roommates have been approved for their apartment! Their move-in day is April 11. And Magickmaker is going to take her kitty with her. :7up:

Yeah, I know you're right. but..........a clean house does so much for my mental health, which has kind of taken a hit recently.

Well........due to my current disability I have had to do my grocery shopping in small amounts so I did it in three trips, one per day. Well.....each trip of $25 they give you a free case (5 boxes) of matzoh. Then yesterday I went to work and since I am the only sorta Jew my coworkers know they gave me their free matzohs. So, folks, I currently have 7 cases of matzoh 8O ........35 boxes! 8O 8O 8O

Wow!

None of the stores here do matzah promotions like that.
...not that I'll eat as much matzah as I usually do, since I'm low carbing.

Still, one case of matzah at $6.99 is on my shopping list for tomorrow.

Still a lotta matzah. Know any Matzo Casserole recipes? :)

A missionary here is a Messianic Jew and he held a Passover Seder for 70 yesterday. I've been to a couple in my life-- one in the home of secular Jews, where we got extremely drunk, and a couple done by church people who learned how to do it from Jewish friends. It is very meaningful and a fine time.

I can't believe that there isn't an adage or an expression for this one already.

The only one I got that comes close is "That's a lotta meatballs!"

So ... that's a lotta matza balls (?) !

If I do say so myself, I make a mean matzah lasagna.

Matzah has become really versatile, though. Matzah blintzes, caramel matzah crunch, matzah farfel "mac" and cheese, matzah brie. And a whole bunch of others I haven't even imagined. I was really hoping to win the Spice and Spirit Passover cookbook giveaway on Facebook, but not this time. I am sure there are lots of recipes in there which make use of matzah though.

Although most Lubavitchers do not "gebrok" during Pesach, except on the last day. So maybe not.

I have never eaten matzah in any form, but everything Menolly listed above sounds delicious. Also, this sentence:
Menolly wrote:Although most Lubavitchers do not "gebrok" during Pesach, except on the last day.
means absolutely nothing to me.

I feel okay. Last week was tough. Hoping this week will be better.

Will you share your recipe in the Galley, MsMary?

Basically to "gebrok" means mixing matzah and liquid to make it more pliable/almost dough-like. Lubavitchers do not have matzah ball soup at their seder. They make their kneidlach/dumplings out of potato starch instead. They don't eat matzah brie until the meal after the sun went down the evening of the last day of the holiday. It is a treat for them to dip matzah in to wine at that time. I think they even avoid putting spreads on their matzah, so sandwiches and matzah board pizza would be out.

I don't think I could do that at all.
