Completely agreed, but... here's my hope:Cail wrote:Motherfracker.
60 minutes of my life.
45 minutes of BSG.
30 seconds of worthwhile television....Cottle crossing the line and Adama sending him back.
The last episode wraps everything up so well, all neat and tidy like, that they realized that they have all this extra time (the last three episodes) to flesh things out so much. Maybe we can't see how they're going to do it, but I don't know how many times I've been reading a 1000ish page novel only to get to the last 100 or so pages, freak out because nothing is resolved, and then be completely satisfied in the end.
It's possible. I believe. They've gotten us this far, and maybe they won't be getting us home, but they'll get us close enough that we can figure the rest out on our own.

I'm stunned. Do the writers realize that there's only one episode left? How are they going to close all these threads in that time? It seems like they're building, not wrapping-up.
Yes - Galactica dies by jumping next to the homeworld and being "bait" while the strike teams go in separately. I like the idea of the Galactica jumping out while close to the homeworld in order to destroy it, but that has to be *after* they rescue Hera.
What's up with Baltar? Same old crap, buy why waste time on him? How will the stuff they just wasted time on with him be of any use in the *final* episode?!
Here's my best case scenario: The series is coming to an end because the Galactica is coming to an end. But the story will continue in a new series with the base star being the protector of the fleet. How many of the actors have taken permanent spots on other series? Those are the characters who are going to die and only show up in guest spot flashbacks.
Other than that, I'm almost HOPING for a Newhart ending. The alternative is that Kara *does* destroy all of humanity, at the same time that the cylon homeworld is destroyed. The end of everything. Which sucks. (Okay - let me make it clear that "the end of everything" here is SO much different than "the end of everything" in the Land! <grin> After all, with titles like "Against All Things Ending" and "The Last Dark", Linden just might be the Land's version of Kara. *shudder* I did NOT just say that!! <grin>)
*sigh*

Romeo good to see you man!
I just hope they do it right. perhpas those who chose the go on the final mission are those who sacrifce themselves for humanity's sake, and those who remain to crew the galactica are able to escape with the survivors of both man and cylon, who then go through the singularity to discover ... Earth. Possibly in the past, where they set up our ancient greek civilization , based on their 12 gods, etc.

I've always supposed that was where they were possibly going, but, how do they wrap everyting up into that bow?iQuestor wrote:Romeo good to see you man!

Remember the prophecy. A dying leader will guide them to Earth, but will not live to see it. Did they just decide to forget that part? It looks like she's going to die, but they've already been to Earth. Supposedly the "real" Earth - the one that the lost tribe settled on.
But then she could have died a dozen times over. She's a cylon. So is Baltar.

Ron Moore, what he says about Daniel. Sorry, I got it straight off the SciFi channel Forum, no link was provided.
Spoiler
"I should probably say as a side note, I know there's a tremendous amount of speculation out there in the internet that Kara is the daughter of Daniel, or that Daniel, Daniel being the Cylon model that was killed or destroyed or aborted or however you want to choose to define it, by Cavil, that there's a connection between Daniel and Kara and that's part of the revelations that we're going to reveal in the finale. I don't typically want to, like, put theories to rest because it kinda spoils the enjoyment and fun of people in the show. However I do think it's worth saying that that is not part of the plan. There is no connection between Kara and Daniel. And like I said I don't typically like to sort of quash rumors and theories because part of the fun of watching a series like this is coming up with your own theories and ideas. But in this particular case I don't want people to really be distracted through the finale by this other idea, which has gained a tremendous amount of currency on the internet and among fan circles. And that's probably my own fault because I don't think I realized the impact that the backstory of Daniel would have in No Exit, you know. I sort of thought that it was an interesting story about, that defined something about Brother Cavil, or John Cavil, and his backstory, and how he reacted to the threat of someone else being as beloved as he was. It was sort of a Cain and Abel type allegory. All those reasons, I thought it was an interesting piece of backstory. But in recent weeks I've realized that the cult of Daniel has grown, that there's a tremendous amount, there's a lot of people out there who are now investing a tremendous amount of time, energy and thought into the notion that Daniel is really a powerful figure in the show, and part of the mythos, and he's directly related to Kara. And, you know, I don't want anyone listening to this broadcast, podcast, I don't want you going into the finale having your Daniel hopes up too high, because that's really not part of the plan. And again I apologize if people think that was such a gigantic mislead or clue or something. That was not the intent. I don't think I anticipated how strongly that would be grabbed by people."
Yeah, that doesn't wash well at all.
FWIW, I've been rewatching the series with my GF (her first time) and I'm constantly struck by how much was foreshadowed, hinted at, or downright revealed very early on in the show. For Moore to say that he "didn't intend" something that signifigant.....Yeah, bullshit.

Well, keep in mind, S4 has been scrambling to connect the dots, it wasn't all plotted out in advance.Cail wrote:Yeah, that doesn't wash well at all.

But, yea, he had to know people would latch onto it. When the original Daniel reveal was given, I said "Finally...they talk about the missing model number", because we've known for a very long time that Model 7 was missing.

Baltar is going to be on that mission. There is no way he possibly couldn't. His story has been building to it the entire series. The moments with Baltar in the last ep were there specifically to show us that he HAS changed, that he can finally make a selfless decision. Caprica 6, Laura, Athena, and Baltar ALL are going to play a vital role in saving Hera. I am also nearly positive they will all die in the finale.
It is VERY possible RDM is messing with us, pretending to debunk the theory. He does have a fairly mischievous side to him. (Like how he responded to all the criticism about BSG being too dark with the episode where they killed all the pilots at a party)
What the hell is up with Starbuck? What the hell is up with head six/head baltar? As long as those two threads are tied, I think we will be ok. If John is destroyed and Hera saved, the cycle of violence will be broken, and humanity will be secure. Where will they end up? The naked singularity is REALLY tantalizing. Will they found their own civilization in the past? Ours in the past?

Well, it's over.
Not what I would have done, but consistent with the series. I'll wait 'till all the time zones are caught up t really get into it.
Overall, I'm pleased.
