When should we schedule Elohimfest-Europe?
I'll be in France and Germany in December.
What a coincidence. I'll be in Italy in December.

I am trying to gather together all the pictures from the various Seafests so that I can get them all together and burn discs for everyone. Everyone who took pics, please please please send them to me so I can get on with my project. Lurve you all!

I woke at 8am this morning so seem to have adjusted quite well to getting back to my local time. Been sobbing a lot this morning and Mr Seareach has been giving me hugs.

It's raining and bitterly cold here. I'm yearning for warmer weather.

...hell, I'm yearning for a whole lot of things.

Instead I'm off to the supermarket to buy food (and hopefully I'll find somewhere that sells Camel Lites!!!!); and watching SoS who is running around with my camera taking photos of things...mainly his crotch but heh he's a kid....

I posted all my good ones in the album, but if you want them directly (or full size - had to shrink the uploaded ones) just let me know where to send 'em.

Everyone send them to cameramanjenn@hotmail.com

As for you, Sorus, we could just get together and if you haven't erased them from your camera we can load them directly into my computer.

I'm not sure yet. its through our university's choir, and all the information we have is that we're going. I would guestimate around the middle of the month, though.

I'm going to be there from Dec. 27 until Jan. 7, so I'm guessing we're not going to randomly run into each other.

Damelon wrote:I understand that CovJr is still in transit, having spent the night in Chicago. It's a grand morning where I am, a few miles outside Chicago. Good flying weather, it looks like. So, a safe final leg to him as well as he heads home.
Yeah, I had some transport issues. Hail in Chicago (apparently; it didn't look haily to me...) meant my flight from SF was almost 90 minutes late landing, which in turn meant I missed my connecting flight to London. The staff on the plane weren't very helpful, so I had to try and work things out on my own, which resulted in me missing the next London flight too.

Furthermore, I thought I'd lost my baggage. On the way to SF, I had to claim my baggage and then re-check it for the connection, so I tried to do the same at Chicago on the way out, but my case never emerged. My day seemed to be going from weakness to weakness. Still, it turned out that for the return flight my baggage was remaining checked, so I didn't need to claim it - but finding that out cost me a lot of valuable time.

Then it dawned on me that if my suitcase was taking the next flight to London and I wasn't, I might have to get a member of my family to make the long drive to London to try and collect it for me, if that's even possible. At which point I was hit by a double realisation: my US Go-Phone was too low on credit to make calls (and way too low for international calls), and the flight I missed while trying to find out what the hell to do was the last one of the day.

Fortunately, an absolute gem of a woman at the AA desk helped me out. The international desk was closed, so I had to go to US Domestic and was worried they might be awkward with me. I know what customer service people can be like, having been one. In any case, this woman sorted me out a place to sleep in the airport, assured me that my suitcase would remain at Chicago until I myself departed, and was generally a great help. I don't mind admitting that this crisis, at its worst point, had my eyes prickling. A crisis is bad enough, but a crisis in an unfamiliar city, in a foreign country, alone...that made me feel like a lost child, and it wasn't a pleasant feeling.

It all worked out though. As I said, AA were consummate professionals once I managed - after something approximating eternity - to find an agent to speak to (and, despite my ingrained pessimism, my case did indeed come with me to London today), Jenn and Lucimay came through for me when I needed them (contacting my family for me, since I only had enough credit on my phone to send one or two messages, and couldn't buy more while stuck at the airport), and I did eventually get home.

Now the woes of travel are over, I just have to deal with the woes of feeling I've left my home behind...

Me too. I felt the same way when I came home from Mexico two weeks ago. I'll really miss my host family. Living with strangers, even for a short time, creates bonds of friendship that are not easily broken and memories that are not soon forgotten.
