I meant, what do you think is the reason for Caprica and Baltar seeing versions of each other in their heads?

Given that there is no chip in Baltar's head, and that we don't know if Baltar is a Cylon yet Six is, I am inclined to think it might be because Baltar is a Cylon. Though I also think it is actually something supernatural. It seems Baltar's selfish, atheistic view is complimented by Six's religious one; and Caprica Six's selfless view is complimented by her Gaius vision's selfish view. Perhaps in that light it's God's work.
However, it seems obvious to me that Baltar's phantom Six has been manipulating him so that humanity settles on New Caprica. Perhaps the visions are Cylon-induced?

And yet, if it wasn't for Caprica having an inner Baltar, there would be as much argument for it being in his head as anything else. His Six so often gives him exactly what he wants. She fits pretty well the idea of her as a projection of his subconscious.
I thought after viewing the miniseries that Baltar was probably a Cylon. I held to that through the entire run, until Downloaded, after which I had to start working things out again from the beginning, because it didn't fit. I still haven't been able to pull enough of the different sides together into a solid idea of what's going on.
(The craziest idea I have on it is a "crossed wires" hypothesis. When Caprica and Baltar died together in the attack (supposing that they did), their proximity to one another and the effects of the nuclear blast caused their downloads to get mixed up, such that each of them acquired some tiny piece of the other's mind around which their head-Baltar and head-Six were constructed. This is one of the theories that season 3 seems to deny.)
Your 'hand of god' idea is intriguing. The series does put a lot of weight into its religious aspects, and the push against those elements that is given through certain characters (Baltar especially) is growing weaker as the series goes on and the evidence mounts...

Thank God someone else sees that. I know I've missed a bunch of episodes this season, but the last two have been utter shite. What has happened to this show?dlbpharmd wrote:Guys, this show is going to tank fast if the writing doesn't improve.....last night's episode was a complete waste of an hour.

The first two seasons rock. The first 5 or 6 episodes this season rocked.
I've found the last two episodes nearly incomprehensible.

319 - Crossroads (Part 1).
Huh. Who would've figured it would have gone THAT way? I was a bit shocked at Adama's final confontation with Lee.
From the preview it looks like the second part (which I think is the end of Season 3?) will be even more shocking (and violent).

I can believe in gravity plating easier than I can believe that he honestly thought he was lying. And I just can't take Lee seriously in that suit. All he needs is a 50's style hat with a big purple feather sticking out of it and the look will be complete.

And then the ravens pecked out his eyes.

I just realized I think I missed the ep you're talking about. I thought you meant the Starbuck ep, which was a bit better than those before it. At least something happened, eh?dlbpharmd wrote:Guys, this show is going to tank fast if the writing doesn't improve.....last night's episode was a complete waste of an hour.
Yes! Like you said, plot development, instead of character development. Finally, it looks like something will happen!Romeo wrote:From the preview it looks like the second part (which I think is the end of Season 3?) will be even more shocking (and violent).
And I agree about Adama. That was extremely stupid.

Oh, contraire! Apollo should have reached across the desk and punched Adama!dlbpharmd wrote:Adama should have bent Apollo over his knee and given him a good spanking for being so damn childish.
Spoiler
After all the mistakes he made when his sons were growing up, and all that's happened since the destruction of the colonies, you'd think Adama would believe his son when he says he didn't know, rather than call him a liar when he says he didn't know about Ellen, and say he has no integrity so he doesn't want him serving anymore anyway. Adama's the one who gave Apollo the law books, for crying out loud! Stupic #$%^!
Anyway, I wonder what the fleet's gonna do now, without Apollo and Starbuck.

****HERE THERE BE SPOILERS!!!!****
I'm not going to put it all in a spoiler, though. Just don't read if you don't want.
And for what?! Colonel Tigh???? Can anybody tell me anything useful Tigh has done on the show? He's exactly what Starbuck said to him in the mini. Well, now he's all Adama has.
(Of course, he's not. Because Apollo will jump into a ship when he's needed. At which point, Adama will likely say, "Get your ass out of of there! I don't want people with no integrity flying my vipers!!)
Kinda surprising they wrote that in. What's the point in making the hybrid blood less potent?

That's another matter. That came after Adama treated him like crap. Apollo may or may not have gone on to question her on the stand, but he still would have been horribly betrayed by his father! I cannot believe Apollo said he didn't know that had happened; Adama called him a liar; Adama confirmed that he was calling him a liar; then, after Apollo quit (I sure as hell would have! Apollo has earned WAAAAAAY better than that, even if Adama wasn't his frakkin' father!!), said he doesn't want liars serving under him anyway! Somebody blow my brains out if I ever treat any of my children a 10th that badly!!dlbpharmd wrote:Apollo is a whiny little bitch! What he did to Roslyn on the stand was inexcusable.

Me either!dlbpharmd wrote:But what about Roslyn having breast cancer again? I sure didn't see that coming!

How could Apollo know any better than the Admiral about Tighe/Ellen? Apollo was on the Pegasus getting fat. Isn't it Tighe, who should be nailed to the cross for holding it a secret?

I'm still lost. I missed 8 episodes, and the story doesn't really have seemed to have advanced.
And Lee's defying his father again....
And Saul's drinking again.....
And there's a Cylon in the brig again.....
Not diggin' it.
