I dreamed that there was a literary knowledge/trivia competition and several of my girl friends from work enrolled to compete. When we arrived we were randomly assigned into groups of three for the competetition preliminaries (the last two rounds would be individual). I was assigned to a team with Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe. I was excited to have Hugh to help in the competetion, and thought he would be a very lively conversationalist. I also knew that a lot of the other women would be distracted when Russell talked. So I was certain that I stood a very good chance of winning (some really cool prize). Then when I was introduced to the men on my team Russell didn't want to play at all, and Hugh was too tired to compete. And I didn't get to play at all.
THE END

I dreamed about Hercule Poirot, as portrayed by David Suchet.
Poirot was on a planet other than Earth, assisted, as ever, by Captain Hastings (as portrayed by Hugh Fraser). There were some murders, some confusing events connected with a load of what appeared to be cheerleaders standing in a line - and then Poirot left. In a sort of hybrid of rollercoaster car and goods elevator. This contraption transported Poirot and Hastings to a different planet, and I awoke.
This is why my MSN name is now "Space Poirot and the Interplanetary Rollercoaster".

Early this morning, I had another Poirot dream. This one was set in the present day, and the plot was something to do with a used car dealership that was a front for something else. The strangest thing about this particular dream was the person who was 'being' Poirot. Possibly only British residents will get this, but...Poirot was...Ian Hislop.

Last night I dreamt that I went to see my ex. And he had this MASSIVE swanky boat (he always loved boating). And then he took me up onto the upper deck and there were all these snazzy cars parked on the deck. He then told me he'd won lotto...I turned to my current partner (who had suddenly appeared and was standing behind me) and told him I was leaving him to go back to my ex because my ex had won lotto...
...makes perfect sense to me!!!

Here chips are those crunchy things that come in packets and hot chips are what you get at a chippers. That said, some of our chips are labeled "crips".
And then there's potato cakes (as we call them here in Victoria) which are referred to as "potato scallops" if you're in NSW.
And then there's the beer conundrum: In Victoria it's a glass, a pot, or a mug...in the ACT and NSW you ask for a schooner when you want a mug...even though (I think) a mug is smaller than a schooner, and a glass is called a "middie" or a "half pint" and...oh... um...just go here
www.cooperspubs.com/glass_sizes_aussie_ ... iendly.htm and that's got everything you need to know (all you really need to know is: just order a jug of beer...no matter where you are in Australia they'll know what you're talking about!

I *love* when this happens!
I find it so fasinating how the mind works.
Last night I fell asleep in front of the TV while watching "Trinity and Beyond". It's a incredible retelling of the use of nuclear weapons over the years. Lots of great music combined with video of the explosions....very well done.
So anyway, I start dreaming........... (not sure what year I was in , there were glimpses of some futuristic stuff , but Indonesia launched a 35 megaton nuke at Iran. (I know, Indonesia???)
Everyone around me was say things like "that's it, Iran is gone" but I was thinking...that's only one bomb so it more likely only took out one city.
So a few of us hopped on a Star Wars-like Landspeeder to check it out.
Then I either woke up or can't remember the rest.

I dreamed I borrowed £2.50 from Pete Doherty to buy a pint in a London bar.
As if that would ever really happen. You can't get a pint for £2.50 anywhere in London.

I have a recurring dream of being held hostage because of my "special powers". Then I try to escape and fly away, but they always catch me.
("They" is always different.)
