Nice to see you in your milieu, Sea! Actually, when I saw the pics, I thought Jurassic Park rather than Indiana Jones. 
Are there any dinosaur digs in Australia?

Well, yeah MM, they actually have dinosaur digs here in Inverloch (where I live). They found here the earliest known jawbone of a mammal! Wacko! There are tours here during summer, when they do their digs on the beach near Eagle's Nest (a well known landmark here). There are other dinosaur digs around Australia, but given we're the earth's oldest continent, there's not heaps of dinosaur bones to find lying around.
As for the river, Balon...it was only that one occasion. We had unseasonable rainfalls. It was just constant light rain, however after a day of that it started running down from everywhere and reaching the river. The river rose about 1/2 a meter over the course of a couple of hours. Luckily it didn't rise overnight...when we would have only realised once we'd started floating in our tents!

That was lucky. One of thw rost experiences is waking after being bone tired from the hike, to a tent that is close to underwater.

And MM, I see it is nice and icy up there in Winterpeg! My best friend was just up in the 'Peg last week for her honeymoon. I would have sent along some goodies from the states for you, but I was pretty sure you would feel stalked if I suggested it.

Actually, Wyl, all the ice and snow have gone now. We're having a warm spring so far. Nevertheless, why on earth did your friend choose Winnipeg as a honeymoon destination?? She's crazy, you're all crazy!
Here's a camera "accident" of mine that turned into a neat photo. I had just pressed the shutter and then turned away from the scene, only to realize that the camera was still taking the exposure when I was moving it. The result was an artsy streaking effect that I really like:

And she didn't stay in Winnipeg the entire time! They started in Saskatchawan and then went to Winnipeg, and then to Thunder Bay. As to why, the bride has been to Canada twice (with me both times), and though the groom had been to Europe, he had never been to Canada.
Also, bride and groom planned the honeymoon back last August when it was blisteringly hot, so I'm sure that Canada sounded nice and cool.
The crazy couple drove up there and back, and spent 10 days doing it. They arrived back home Sunday night.

Thanks, Balon! Yeah, I just love snowy owls. IMO, they are the most photogenic of all owls. I could spend all day looking at and taking pictures of them...until hauled away by zoo staff who may think I'm some nut.
