Hope Magicmaker is OK, Ali.

When I was 7 I was rushed to hospital in an amublance with "appendicitis" and ended up having an enema

Iolanthe --

Her father gets pretty severe acid reflux -- or did when we were married, and I have no reason to assume it's better now.

Haitus Hernia? I get terrible heartburn and pain, but I've learned what not to eat - including alcohol :( anything with acid - ketchup, garlic etc.

I dunno if he has a hernia, but he has a long history of ulcers. And yeah, anything acidic does a number on his stomach.

This happened to my brother when he was 12--you are not alone.

Iolanthe & Ali - I wrote at length about myself in the Null Surgery. had a very bad night.

damn light bulb went out in my office. so i turned the tv on and i have the computer light. but getting to bed will be an adventur e- I don't want to wake up Julie.

hoping we can take Sonny down to the beach this week. i'll stay in the truck but he needs to get out of the house.

when i finally go back to work he is going to be miserable. he has enjoyed having his daddy around all day.

i have been real homesick, and looks like we will be bowing out of the Watch Fest in October.

just can not afford the plane ride and whatever else i would have to pay for. (food, lodging, etc) heart broken to say the least -

have not been home since my dad died and julie hasn't been back since we moved down here.

sorry to be on such a down note. :(

OK, I'll hop over there. Don't get emails from that thread.

Hope you got to bed OK. If my light bulb goes I just call my husband :)

Sounds like you need to get out of the house! A trip to the beach will do you as much good as Sonny.

Yeah. Hubby is off this and next week for school holidays and Sammy will miss him when he goes back to work. I shall be at home more this week as well.

Ditto, but there wasn't much chance of me going in the first place! October is a long way away. Do you have a tent?

Where is home? I left my birth town in 1973 and never looked back. No rellies left there now anyway.

You're entitled to a down note, what with the leg and everything. I'm well acquainted with being the only person alive still awake at 4 in the morning in spite of patiently lying in bed for hours trying to get to sleep. At least I'm mobile - can get up and make a cup of tea, read a book, have a fag. Being immobile as well must be the pits.

Later on I'll send some pictures to the "Summer Camp" thread - might give you a good laugh. Right now, I must go and put some washing out - it's supposed to be raining this afternoon.

Chin up, Chappy. It won't be for ever.

What Iolanthe said. 8)

Magickmaker was much better by the end of the day yesterday, but I was exhausted -- and like a dope, I pushed myself past when I should have gone to bed, so now, this morning, I'm still tired. Bleah.

Want to share my matchsticks, Ali? Spent far too long on the computer yesterday and have another load of work to do today.

I might take you up on that offer, depending on how boring work is today... ;)

Iolanthe - i am from New Hampshire. my wife is from Texas. we moved down here so she could be near her family.

the money for the plane is the biggest obstacle. that month is my wife's 50th birthday - so we are either going to vegas or a carribean cruise.

New Hampshire - I think that is near Boston? Pilgrim fathers, tea party and all that.

Vegas or a Carribean cruise, or the fest - what a choice! I know what I would choose :D

On my 50th birthday I gave a lecture in Essex, stayed in a motel and went to a pub to meet a few old schoolfriends who I hadn't seen for 35 years.

Hmm, I dunno, Sarge. You might be courting disaster to plan a big vacation for Julie's 50th. I was supposed to be in Spain on my 50th, but I put it off because I'd sprained my ankle twice during the month before. Then on the (rescheduled) day I was supposed to leave, my mother died. Rescheduled *again* for the following month, and finally got to go.

See? Fancy vacations for milestones are fraught with peril. Y'all should come and hang out with us instead. <nod nod>

My temporary cap came off while I was sleeping last night and I am pretty sure I swallowed it. I can feel a scratch deep in my throat.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Thanks for the tip. My 50th is in July. I'd thought about going to London... Until I saw that the Olympics were to start a week later. I figured London was going to be expensive enough. With the Olympics to start a week after my stay, I figured I'd stay away. I'm still mulling over what to do.

Hope the toothfairy doesnt replace that tooth with a silver dollar!!!!

I'm leaving from work right now on the way to the dentist to get my temporary crowns taken off and my new bridge put in. One of my temps came off the other week and I was not amused. Of course it happened on a Saturday afternoon so I had to wait for Monday to get it fixed... and of course it broke so I couldnt just put it back on.

So off I go!!!!!!!!!

Good plan re avoiding London. On my third try for Spain, I couldn't figure out why the hotels in Seville were all either sold out or really expensive. Then I realized I was going to be there during Feria, their annual spring festival. And Feria's not *nearly* as big a deal as the Olympics.
