I don't usually pay much attention to "anniversaries" or "birthdays" here but I will make an exception in this case.

Happy Birthday, Effaeldm.

A birthday greeting from the Director of Data Acquisition? o_O

A moment, I have to verify if I'm in a parallel universe...

Strange, looks like it's the same one. Maybe my parallel universe verifier is broken.

*Carefully contemplates the words not to run into trouble - well, at least not too much trouble*

Thank you.

No worries, Effy. Consider that my co-mod here in the Summonsing also claims to pay no attention to anniversaries (well, joined dates...which are precisely the same thing on several levels ), post counts or other details...but seems to consistently be popping up with timely and gracious greetings-for-all-occasions.

How surprising is it that an information sponge like the DA Director would also be aware of your birthday and offer the appropriate wishes? Isn't it actually far more explicable?

You are welcome.

Nothing strange about it--other people mentioned it and I simply joined the chorus.

"But Hashi--you normally don't well-wish anyone. You even confirmed that yourself."

Make of that what you will. Here, in this online place, words normally do not lead to trouble of any sort.

Knowing and doing something are quite different things - very different actually

Simply? :) Then it's even stranger and curiouser. ;)

This word seems mildly familiar... I must have seen it sometime before somewhere... somewhere off the Watch I guess

Most likely, yes.

It's the little comments like that that make me think Effaeldm knows me from some other board I have been on in the past, which is what intrigues me the most. An anlysis of my vocabulary, sentence structure, and posting habits or quirks could point me out in some online place.

Or maybe I like playing mind games... oh wait. Not "maybe".

Heh, yes, Posting styles, do sometimes give a person away. Our own Poster Lurch, has a unique posting style with his commas and Elipses, and I recognized him instantly on The ABC LOST Board, back when LOST was airing (Of course, I verified with him, if it was indeed him, since Username was different).

There's a guy on TrekBBS that reminds me alot of SgtNull, but, since Australia isn't a City in Texas, I can be fairly confident that poster isn't SgtNull

do you mean the lack of uppercases? pure laziness that became a habit. a long time ago I asked if anyone on the board was bothered by it. btw - the uppercases that are done now are autocorrect. I somehow loaded it, no idea how.

and Australia does not exist.

I can't put my finger on exactly what it is, just something about his posts that reminds me of you

No worries.
I would have made the same error as well, if I didn't know.
