Sore. I helped out at the judo camp again today, and let several of the kids throw me. Most of them managed to kick or knee my legs in various places, some of them threw me so hard my neck jerked awkwardly, and one of the kids accidently threw me off the mat--I landed butt-first on the hard gym floor. Driving home was difficult with so many leg, neck, and butt injuries. But it was worth it to see how happy the kids were doing judo.

I'm starting to get nervous as hell, Tam and Elora's flight was due here at 7pm my time and I haven't heard a peep from her since the Tampa airport. She said there were delays in both Tampa and Houston due to thunderstorms, but the 1800 number says their plane landed over two hours ago. I expected 2 hours top, but it's almost going on 4 hours now...

fall far and well Pilots!

I feel exhausted. I dragged Cov out to Six Flags Marine World which is now some Discovery thing, anyway. I dragged him on roller coaster after roller coaster. We had a blast. He loved it. He might protest because his English snobbery prohibits fun but it was great. I have a picture of us on the Medusa roller coaster but I am having trouble scanning with success. We saw Oiliphants and giraffes and foxes and dolphins and a cute bat and lions and tigers.... In fact there was a big warning sign that said that if you get up close to the tigers they may get you wet by jumping in the pool or they may spray you and we watched this guy get SPRAYED by a tiger. We all yelled at him to look out but I think he was clueless as to what actually gave him the shower. EWK! Peed on by a tiger. Gross. I petted the stingrays but Cov was adamant about not petting them. The butterflies in the butterfly atrium kept trying to land on my head but it was probably because I had a fluffy purple hair scrunchy and citrus floral hair gel so they may have thought my head was a flower. All in all it was a great day.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Today, totally stoked!
I'm leaving work early today to go down to Milwaukee, where I'll be attending Summerfest (the country's largest outdoor music festival - if you believe the ads). And headlining at Summerfest tonight - Rush!!!
It's supposed to rain, but who the hell cares? This'll be fun!

Menolly - I hear tell that they have other food there, but really, who needs it when you have brats?

Yay for concerts, and vacations, and roller coasters, and letting little kids beat up on you for a good cause, and flights eventually getting where they're supposed to go!
Today, for me: okay. It's Friday and payday -- or as we call it around here, exchange day (when you exchange your check for that stack of bills...). Nothing really planned for the weekend, other than driving Magickmaker back and forth to work tomorrow and trying to find her khakis that will pass muster with Petsmart's dress code. It's supposed to be stinkin' hot tomorrow anyhow, and it'll be too sticky to put the varnish on the desk and bookshelf. Maybe I'll go to the pool...

Yep, he just looked around with a really startled expression, clearly with no idea what had happened, even though one of the keepers shouted "step back, he might spray you" and several people, including us, yelled "get back". Fool. There were moments I thought I saw the realisation dawning on his face, but then it vanished. Maybe he was in denial. I assume he eventually realised, because cat wee absolutely stinks after a while.Cameraman Jenn wrote:In fact there was a big warning sign that said that if you get up close to the tigers they may get you wet by jumping in the pool or they may spray you and we watched this guy get SPRAYED by a tiger. I'm EXHAUSTED!!!
we were stocking the shelves today, to get ready to open the store(Petsmart). Started out this morning lifting/shelving 40 pound bags of dog food. Then did bags between 15 and 35 pounds. Then bags between 5 and 10. Then did cans of dog food. I briefly stocked pet shampoos and vitamins, and then spent the rest of the day stocking dog toys. and I get to do it again tomorrow(minus the dog food. that's all stocked, thank the gods.).
