The Great Way is not difficult
for those who have no preferences.
When love and hate are both absent
everything becomes clear and undisguised.
Make the smallest distinction, however
and heaven and earth are set infinitely apart.
If you wish to see the truth
then hold no opinions for or against anything.
To set up what you like against what you dislike
is the disease of the mind.
When the deep meaning of things is not understood
the minds essential peace is disturbed to no avail.
The Way is perfect like vast space
where nothing is lacking and nothing is in excess.
Indeed, it is due to our choosing to accept or reject
that we do not see the true nature of things.
Live neither in the entanglements of outer things,
nor in inner feelings of emptiness.
Be serene in the oneness of things
and such erroneous views will disappear by themselves.
When you try to stop activity to achieve passivity
your very effort fills you with activity.
As long as you remain in one extreme or the other
you will never know Oneness.

Stay with it, man. Consider the fighting of a craving a sort of VSE... you can only survive through flawless execution.

I hope everyone who is not feeling wonderful, starts feeling better soon. Cause... the everything is nicer when it's wonderful.
Wow. My wit is astounding.
Anyway, I feel wonderful. I'm 575 pages into the Gap into Ruin, and... uh... yeah.
I'm bout dancing after almost every page. Almost. Ciro makes me very, very sad. But in general I'm thrilled cause I didn't have any hope that things would start looking up. Ever. Of course, there's time for everything to go to hell in a pretty pink basket, but I hold out hope. Always.
Anyway, YAY for the Gap!
(Now, to do about 5 more minutes of work so I can do about an hour more of reading. I like my ratios.)

RELIEVED. I was very stressed about my midterm today in Medieval Women Mystics. The rub was that the teacher would pick 5 of ten short answer questions. I felt like I was spreading myself thin studying for all ten; there were at least two or three questions I was hoping she wouldn't pick. On top of this, there was a short essay question.
Anyway: she comes in with the test and says: "There's been a change." Most of the class was "Argghhh," but then she quickly told us: we could pick whichever five we wanted! Argghs turned to a standing ovation. Pretty much saved my ass. Man, was so worried about that class for a while.

Cold! Cold cold cold cold cold. It seems winter is on its way in my part of the world once more after a rather short summer.
Apart from that just restless.

Interesting theory. I think it's incorrect, but I'll take it into consideration...

When I get physically exhausted my left eye twitches.

Are you really tired today?

Nah, not super tired. But I did read pretty much all day. Maybe it's that... either way, it's stopped now.
New question. I just realized that the chunky chicken noodle soup that I'm eating has a "Best if Eaten by" date of 2003. (I think at this point the month doesn't so much matter.)
Am I going to die?

Sorry to all of those who are feeling physically or emotionally under the weather . . .
Today I am doing better. I am exhausted, as I have only had 12 hours of sleep since last Saturday morning. However, I am planning on going to bed early tonight to remedy that.
I had a long talk with my friend last night--the one who wanted more than friendship. I think we were able to get past the worst of the embarrassment and pain, and we may just get to remain friends afterall. I'm happy about that, because friends are a precious commodity.
The weather has been summer-like here, and I am ready for a return to fall so I can cuddle in bed with nice blankets and wear lovely jackets outside. I'm also looking forward to the changing of the leaves so I can go take my annual fall pictures.
Hope all is well at the watch. . .

I'll trade you. We have had an extra hot hot hot hot hot hot summer. And now we are into an indian summer. Of course. If you don't like the weather in Texas, wait 5 minutes. Hmm.... I've been waiting more than 5 minutes.

Hungry. It seems if I eat beakfast in the morning, the stomach expects a treat every damn 15 minutes. What up with that?!

When you eat breakfast you kick start your metabolism for the day. It's ok, take some apples or other fresh fruit/vegatable to snack on and drink lots of water.
Everyone knows that breakfast is the most impotent meal of the day!
