Was listening to my albums. Right in the middle of Physical Graffiti side 2, my record player died. Guess you do get what you pay for and I shouldn't have cheaped out. Better quality new player from Victrola otw.

A bunch of Gordon Lightfoot this week, because I guess I want to be good and depressed for Mother's Day.

I loves them ladies.
They may be at the top of my bucket list these days to see live, having struck down a heap and those dropping off the list because it either isn't the full band anymore or they are no longer touring.
This will probably change next week.

Picked up a Kevin Ayres CD the other day, Whatevershebringswesing.
Originally a single vinyl LP, this has an additional BBC Sessions disc.
I'm guessing the CD's are Japanese imports.
Beautifully packaged, cotton fabric cd sleeves, booklets,
in thick cardboard and outer plastic sleeve. Similar to how vinyl records
were made.
The BBC Session disc looks like an old (albeit shrunken) 45"
with a clear plastic centre piece.
pretty cool

Nice!!!
I've got back to buying albums again. The new albums are high quality and sound fantastic! if I buy them on Amazon I get access to it electronically on Amazon Music. That way I can listen anywhere I am.

Listening to playbacks at the moment. Electric guitar recordings.
Some things learned many years ago studying Bebop - gathering musical words into musical phrases, to make musical sentences.
They aren't ready yet for rendering (mp3/wav.) but over all I'm well pleased.
Stupendous fun the computer is!

So weird that I put this, as they are coming to Denver, and playing at my favorite place to go see people at the moment. Tickets are super cheap, and they even have an extra $22 meet and greet with the band at a Japanese restaurant before the event. The $22 includes ramen and a beer.
I don't know how to feel about meeting "celebrities" as I feel like I usually have nothing to add to their life. And the times I decided to try to impress upon them what their work meant to me, I've felt like an idiot. Being that these ladies skill in English is rocky at the best of times, I guess the best I could hope for is a picture with them, which would be fun, but mostly embarrassing. With that said, I don't think I'm built to meet people I admire because I think of what my meeting them would give them, rather than what it means to me. Probably the best celeb meeting for me was that I asked Amanda Palmer for a hug instead of an autograph. She gave both, and I nearly floated back to my seat.
It looks like the lady who used to play drums but wasn't with them in the newer stuff has rejoined on the bass, and the new drummer is rocksteady, so I'm thrilled that I'm seeing this lineup.
And I picked up their newest album, and the
title track is freakin' crazy.

Blackfoot Strikes!
I first heard them on my 8- track on a POS car that I had. The 8 track was nicer than the car. LOL
Those guys rock!
Well, goodbye pretty mama, get yourself a money man
Goodbye, pretty mama, Lord, get yourself a money man
You take that midnight train to Memphis
Lord, leave if you can

Rianna's, Shine Bright Like A Diamond. Just love the kick&tambourine combination.
Been trying to capture a scalp tingle sound using stretched (audio sample) bar chimes and rainsticks.
Seems that a heavy pounding kick drum has more scalp tingle than any high treble sound.

Shinedown album Attention Attention. Monsters is incredibly good.

Leave your weapon on the table
Wrapped in burlap, barely able
Dont get angry, dont discourage
Take a shot of liquid courage
Leave a light on if you're able
Cause we both know youre unstable
Call a doctor, say a prayer
Choose a god you think is there
Cause my monsters are real, and theyre trained how to kill
And theres no comin back and they just laughed at how I feel
And these monsters can fight, and theyll never say die
And theres no goin back, if I get trapped Ill never heal
Yeah, my monsters are real

Switched it up to Little Feat "Waiting for Columbus". I dont have this on Vinyl so I suggested this to my kids over the weekend... Just in case they dont know what to buy their dad.
Sadly these are not in production on Vinyl so it will be used or way overpriced. We will see what they come up with.
