Sentry looks to be comprable to Phoenix so far.

then Sentry is too damn powerful to be fighting anything less than cosmic beings. send him into space. he can chill on Hulk World for a bit and go about solving the Kree/Skrull wars. :)

Sentry has done some staggeringly powerful stuff since his recent return. After some baddie takes out Iron Man and Ms. Marvel, Sentry grabs him and flys him into the sun. Basically, he's Superman.

Basically, he's Marvel-style Superman... but personally I enjoyed his miniseries a lot back then, and I always hoped somebody would pull him out of the hat... so I'm glad to see somebody did ;)

I hadn't heard of him before the latest Avengers series started. At first, I thought he was a new invention.

Sentry is relatively new. The original miniseries happened about 5 or 6 years ago.

Yes, the trick is that they had a whole marketing campaign prior to the miniseries in which they claimed he was Stan Lee's first superhero, which had been somehow forgotten all these years. It was obviously a ploy to create interest in the storyline, but it was well made and it was enjoyable. The miniseries itself was sprinkled with panels from "old issues" of the comic book, drawn in different styles (according to the supposed year in which they had been printed) and showing different things about the character... it was very cool.

I wish they had just let the miniseries stand as was.

Don't forget the fantastic Mr. Frump! He was pretty powerful...for a putz.

had to read up on Mr. Frump. seems all of his powers came from an amulet. without it he was easily taken down. so I don't think he is a contender.

Then again you have guys like Mr. Immortal who just won't stay dead... the Hulk could beat that guy to a pulp and he'd still pop back up!

According to Box Office Mojo SPIDERMAN is the most powerful superhero of all time. I guess Spidey can kick Superman and The Hulk's butt all over the place. Interesting. Iron Man and Ghost Rider enter the fray shortly but I don't think they have a prayer. :-)

Thanks for the numbers, aTOMiC! I suspect Spider-Man 3 will also have plenty of box office mojo when it comes out.

I agree about Superman.

You know, Tom gave stats to prove his theory; while you give nothing to support your dubious assumption.

Is there a TPB that captures all the sentry storyline and old marvel panels, etc.?
