The perfect pizza cooking appliance Damelon. No burnt pizzas in your house, I bet. :)
Maybe a certain Kiwi, who shall remain anonymous, should invest in one. ;)

No :) It shuts itself off so there is no chance to really burn a pizza by forgetting about it.

After reading Brinn's thread about sushi, I decided to have a go and make my own. I've been meaning to do it for ages but never got up the gumption.

I made little sushi rolls using cucumber, prawns and avocado ( I kept it pretty simple for the first attempts) and I had the gari and wasabi on the side. They turned out pretty good if I must say so. Rolling them up was the tricky bit ;)

No sushi for dinner in this house tonight! I love to cook on the barbie on Sundays and today there are big, lovely, boneless pork ribs cooking in the back yard! :)

Chocolate icecream Duchess???? ;)
I had the pleasure of the company of my little niece and nephew today and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they were staying for dinner as well. :) OOHH Lucky ME!!!! So I had the master barbecue chef fire up the barbie and we had burgers for dinner. My nephew Lachlan is a devout carnivore, it was the meat-lover's burger for him with steak, bacon , egg and cheese and a large dash of tomato sauce (ketchup).
We girls whipped up a batch of pikelets for dessert while the boys were out doing the man thing. It ended up being quite an enjoyable experience and I heartily thanked their mother and father when they eventually turned up to take them home. :)

Damelon, pikelets are just like pancakes only smaller in size and we usually spread them with butter and jam or half a bottle of honey if you happen to be my sweet toothed nephew. :) You can make them any size you want and the kids really like to make funny shapes as well, like Mickey Mouse head shapes. :D

I see, they are called Silver Dollar Pancakes here. Put butter and maple syrup on them......umm good...

Yes Damelon, maple syrup will do the trick just as nicely, so would golden syrup. :)

But I'm rather hesitant with introducing my neph to maple syrup after seeing how much honey he piled on his pikelets. He likes a little bit of pikelet with his honey. ;)

That's like my mom, with her, "I only want a little bit of potato with my butter."
