Strange, the desire for certain pleasures is a part of my pain.
--Kahlil Gibran

I think he is talking about chocolate when he says this...

A ha, I knew that picture from somewhere! From one of Gibran's books.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

It's from "The Prophet" isn't it? I was like, "I swear I've seen that head somewhere." Never read the book, but I know of the author somewhat.

Once again, you are correct... One of the greatest books you can read to nourish your soul!!! Try it... It's very fulfilling.

No, Sylv was correct the first time. Then I Amazon.com'ed the author and did a little Internet research to brush up. I'm a cheater! But at least I learned something new today, ya know? That usually never happens to me, despite the famous adage that states completely otherwise.

Oh yeah--and just to keep this thread on topic:

Chocolate's good. Yum.

Seriously, though! It's funny how good chocolate is; yet it's EVIL for your health. Quite the irony there!

I wish I could say that I've read it all, but alas, I have only read snippets. I remember cateloging it several times (used to work for alibris.com), and each time I'd stop to peruse it some.

Ok, Ok, Ok... I start a new topic... Devoted to his writings then. Seeing as this is a chocolate one, and not the place for such things...

Oh yea, Chocolate yum yum yum... think I'll go have me some.
