Since I am one of the ones who brought it up: I only indicated a preference for not having it that day. That's not the same as saying I could not do it.

My first preference is, of course, whatever weekend SRD would like. :) I guess I thought that would go without saying.

And it's not like Father's day is a serious holiday. You know, like Christmas or Mother's Day. ;)

Since I'm bringing the Waykin along, it's actually nice that they won't miss any school.

Whose really affected if it's the weekend of the 15th? Let's find out where we are.

i'm unaffected by father's day.

that week, however, is a blackout week at work for me. can't do it having nothing whatsoever to do with father's day.

if you have it without me, you're all condemned to hell.

Any weekend in June is fine, I'll just get Pops something a little extra for his birthday in May and tell him that's for Father's Day as well. :)

edit:

Aliantha, it'd be great to have you come along!

nope. during the catalog's peak weeks i rotate saturdays or sundays with the other supervisors.

all of july is free for me, and all of may and the first week in june.

can someone find out if SRD has other months free? like may or july?

Well, I can ask Steve about the first weekend in June but he is at Soonercon from the 8-10 and will be home the following weekend, which is Father's Day and then he is off on vacation the later weekends in June so we are kinda tied. He didn't offer up the first weekend so it probably means he already has something going on, however he didn't specifically say that he did for certain. All I can do is ask.

I just saw Darth's post. Do we have to have it in June? Might be easier to do in July or August.

One idea may be to have Elohimfest the same weekend as Bubonicon and find some time during it to whisk Steve off to dinner---we can all dress up and geek out and, hopefully, hear a read from FR...Bubonicon is usually around the 23rd of August

Edit it's Aug 24th Vernor Vinge is Guest of Honor and Jane Lindskold is Toastmaster.
