LOL. No, she was confident and competent, so she wouldn't have frumpy body language. I seem to remember she was still ripely attractive.Landwaster wrote:are we talking an element of pronounced frump, here?
According to IMDb, Lynette Curran was Mrs. Ahern in Oscar And Lucinda. Was she one of the gossips in Oscar's parish? It's getting too late for intensive research.
In fact, I think it's time to retire. Nice to talk casting for a while and forget the evening jobs. Later.

It just occured to me that Marlon Brando as he was 20-30 years ago would have made a great Warden Dios.

Casting Dios
Amani quoth:
I always think of Warden Dios as taller than everyone around him, even though he isn't in the book. Strange, sacrifice doesn't usually translate to physical stature in my mind.
For this day and age
, I have such a clear picture in my mind of Liam Neeson on the Amnion ship, terrified but rising "above" it. For once Neeson's preference for a protagonist with angst, and the film's need for a stand-tall hero, would coincide. Dios is an immense creation.
As he was playing Marc Antony. He would be Warden well, yes, both visually and performance-wise.It just occured to me that Marlon Brando as he was 20-30 years ago would have made a great Warden Dios.

Casting GAP
Morn = Peta Wilson of La Femme Nikita. She has the fragile blonde beauty, the super-athleticism, and the ability to sink to emotional depths. She also seems to bring out the protectiveness in the viewer.
Holt Fasner = Stephen McHattie, who played Gabriel in Beauty and the Beast. Remember him raving gently over the cradle of Vincent's baby? The manner of a gentleman, but you had no doubt he was mad. He has a skull-like face that never seems to age; nowadays it just seems to have started middleaged. McHattie has won several actor's awards but never hit the big time.

I'd say get some pop superstar to play Morn. She's always described as almost featurelessly beautiful and young...you'd want someone who could invoke lust in teenage boys everywhere, so I'd say Britney Spears or some such for Morn...except, you know, with acting ability.
My favorite character would probably be a tie between Warden and Hashi...but it's a tough one trying to come up with someone worthy to play either of these two characters...Maybe Christopher Walkins for Hashi...

Re: Casting GAP
I agree Peta Wilson has excellent physical suitability .. but I recently saw her in the League of extraordianry gentlemen .. and her acting couldnt have been more wooden .. I was a little surprised as I enjoy Nikita .. and find the Michael character quite wooden in that .. but in this flick she was imho .. disappointing.Joy wrote:Morn = Peta Wilson of La Femme Nikita.
