Beorn, please choose the next question yourself. I've done several by now.

OK...thanks.

How about one you need to figure out for yourself? I don't think the answer is ever plainly given.

How old is Hagrid at the end of the series?

*disqualifying self from answering as I demanded Beorn prove to me he knew the answer and explain how he got it*

To clarify Beorn's question, he wants Hagrid's age at the end of the epilog. And in case a given answer is different, he would like an explanation of how the answer was determined, as he says he will consider a different answer if the logic is sound.

Ok. If the Chamber of Secrets was first opened fifty years before Harry's second year and Hagrid was expelled during Hagrid's third year that would make him 63 in Chamber of Secrets so add five to that and that would make him 68 in the book Deathly Hallows. How is that logic?

Don't forget to add the epilog (epilouge?) Jenn...

Beorn's checking out joining his high school's wrestling team (!!!). I'll have him sign in and and check your answer when he gets back.

Ok, then assuming Hagrid is still alive he would be 87 at the very end of the last book. The epilogue takes place 19 years after the final battle.

Yes, ma'am. Same reasoning I used.

You're up.

(Mommy! Shame on you for prompting her after clarifying my question! She would have been ruled wrong on Jeopardy!!)

The Forest of Dean--which is where Hagrid (and J.K.Rowling) are from.

Who was Voldemort's teacher in Defense Against the Dark Arts?

Professor Merrythought

How many chapters is there in the entire series which Harry has absolutely no part in, whether in person or via dreams/visions?

I loved the question. It makes one have to think hard. It was great. I would have been happy whether I was right or wrong! Keep em coming Beorn, seriously.

But his second one? I know that's a detail he has discussed with me, as he likes to keep track of stuff like that. But, does anyone else consider it a fair question?

OK
I just figured if people didn't know it off the top of their head like Beorn (and me, since we discuss these things he finds interesting), that it wouldn't be fair to have them look through all of the books to see what chapters Harry isn't in or visualzes.
