If anything, I need my chiropractor. (And you do NOT want to know how an Haruchai chiropractor adjusts you!)

On the contrary - we already DO know how a Haruchai chiropractor works. Just make an appointment to see Dr. Ak Haru Kennaustin Ardenol (sorry for the spelling - I don't have a book handy). That whole thing started by Brinn asking him to help him work out a kink in his neck. When the normal procedures didn't fix the problem, he thought a one hundred foot drop onto some rocks might do the trick.

So, THAT is what that was all about. And here I thought he was doing some test of strength or something grand like that. I sure did have that wrong.

Sometimes we fight to grieve. Sometimes we fight to work out kinks. There are many reasons we fight. Occasionally, we even fight because we need to defeat a foe.

I'm hoping we see a return of the Haruchai, Ramen and Ranyhyn in the Third Chronicles. And I really really really hope that Donaldson doesn't do anything horrible to the land itself this time. The Sunbane broke my heart :(

Peace,

Haruchai will be back. No doubt. I dunno about the Ramen and Ranyhyn though...:?

They went south in TPTP when Covenant released the Ranyhyn from their "promise", and weren't in the second chronicles at all. I'm hoping to see them, or something "like" them in the third chronicles.

BTW, what did he mean by "Things don't look good for Kevin's Watch." hmmmmmmm...is it going bye bye??? hope not :(

I decided to bump this since we may be finding out more 3rd Chron info tomorrow...

I'm hoping the giants/unhomed and haruchai make it back in some capacity. And like others have mentioned, the question of earthpower, lore and wards are big areas too.

My other question is Revelstone. I haven't read WGW in over a year, but IIRC Nom really did a number on Revelstone but didn't completely tear it from stone to stone. You have to hope that revelstone helped the Land rebound and regroup in some way.

Damn-- orcrests, krill, hurtloam, aliantha, Kevin's Watch, Andelain, I wanna know it all! And what of Foul and the Ravers and the Forestals? And to think we have to wait at least another year to find out!

Oh, and I almost forgot -- what of Mt Thunder? Did Foul shack up here to lick his wounds or did he construct a new and improved Creche 2.0?

Nom did more damage to the Sandhold then he did to Revelstone. Revelstone was more or less intact at the end of all that. The Hall of Gifts was damaged, and the Forehall and Inner Gates. Also the Sacred Enclosure was profaned by the Banefire. But, for the most part...it's intact and repairable. And with the First and Pitchwife...and the other Giants..there to help...I think Revelstone will be just fine :)

Andelain was only beginning to erupt under the Sunbane...But, MT Thunder may very well have come tumbling down...hehe. The Creche was destroyed, Covenant brought it down when he did away with the Illearth Stone in TPTP...but that doesn't mean Foul couldn't have built it up again.

The only Forestal left was Caer-Cavaral (Troy)...and he of course sacrificed himself to break the Law of Life and bring Hollian back, and to open the door for Covenant to block the Arch of Time. That door also opened the very real possibility for Covenant to be brought back in the Third Chrons. What I would like to know..is what of the Colussus...if THAT is still there, then more Forestals could come I think, we need Forests tho first :(...And more Unfettered. I wish there had been more of them in the First Chrons.

I think that there will be more journeys too. Maybe we will even see the Giants' Home. I would LOVE that.

OHHHHH...the waiting is going to KILL me I think! LOL

I read the Chronicals several times now and find them absolutely amazing. In Holland the First Chronicals are being produced again, I can't wait to get them all if they all are in stores! 8) 8)

Reading this topic, I also wondered about the 3rd chronicals. Covenant is dead in the real world. I have a strong feeling he won't have central role in the 3rd chronicals. Covenant found peace in himself, he was "true" in the end of the series (he was that even in the end of the first!). What new could there be writting about him giving him a central role?? And this makes me think about the title "the chronicals of thomas covenant". Will Stephen Donaldson use this title again?

In the first chronicals they were many things like the Giants, Elohim etc. that needed further introduction. This came to be in the 2nd chronicals, and there are not many leftovers. And it is in fantasy important that not everything is explained. That would take away the "fantasy feeling". If SRD is writing a 3rd chronicals I believe the story would be beyond you ever imagened.

I could image that the 3rd chronicals could take place on Earth. It has proven that Lord Foul has power on earth. He can manipulate people there, and maybe he can even manifistate himself there. Maybe persons of the Land would venture into Earth.

Personally there is one thing that ask my self almost everytime I read the books. The Haruchai... I love to know more about their strange culture. Their way of living and thinking just demand further introduction!

my 2 cents :)

Hail Terrell!! :)

Check out the threads "News that sets SRD fandom on fire" and "SRD quotes from today's reading (more explosive news)". Danlo and Ringthane both went to Bubonicon, a writer's convention, in NM a couple weeks ago and heard SRD speak. The Last Chronicles are going to be AWESOME!!! :)

Be welcome and true!!

We know he's going to give more exposure to races and creatures only shown a little before... And with the corruption of Time this gives many possibilities - it would be interesting going back to somewhere in the past and finding that someone in a pivotal role in the history of the Land had made a bargain with croyel, yes? Or maybe a trip into the future and seeing the aftermath of some big disaster?
Perhaps we will find out that Linden was the person who told Berek about Gold and White Gold, when he should have no way of knowing of such things...

Technically, the living soul of the One Forest created the Colossus and the original Forestaal. Of course, it couldn't have done either without the knowledge it gained from the Elohim Appointed. (And, of course, the Appointed herself was necessary for the creation of the Colossus, being its very core.)

What I am trying to say is, it is not the Colossus itself that is necessary, but the knowledge that the Elohim imparted to the One Forest. Knowledge that Caerroil Wildwood had. Knowledge that I have. :) And I will create more Forestaal. I promise. But you are right - first, I need to grow a LOT more trees! I'm getting there. :)
