Sonic boooooom
Sonic boooooom
Sonic boooooom
...from the 80s-movie-soundtrack-style delight that is - astonishingly -
Sonic Boom.

It's fairly persistent.

I, quite possibly, have the worst song EVER stuck in my head.....
I'm on top of the world lookin down on creation and the only explanation I can find....is the love that I've found ever since you've been around you're love's put me at the top of the world.
Someone, HELP!

There is only one thing you can do...and that is put another tune in there. Theres only room for one..so mite I suggest...Beethoven's 5th symphony..

For some reason Layla gets stuck in my head. Not the cool 70's rocking version featuring Duanne Allman on slide guitar, but the insipid 90's acoustic version.

Still there.
If you're strong, you can fly
You can reach the other side of the rainbow
It's alright, take a chance
'Cause there is no circumstance
That you can't handle
Sonic boooooom
Sonic boooooom
Sonic boooooom
There are worse role models for the kids than Sonic.

And you know, Sonic Boom is kind of smooth.

Ooh, ooh, ooh.
Yes, just the "ooh, ooh, ooh" bit from 'Edge of Seventeen' by Stevie Nicks, because I don't know any of the other lyrics.

There ya go, Cov!
Just like the white winged dove...
Sings a song...
Sounds like shes singing...
Whoo... whoo... whoo...
Just like the white winged dove...
Sings a song...
Sounds like shes singing...
Ooo baby... ooo... said ooo
And the days go by...
Like a strand in the wind...
In the web that is my own...
I begin again
Said to my friend, baby...
Nothin else mattered
He was no more... than a baby then
Well he... seemed broken hearted...
Something within him
But the moment... that I first laid...
Eyes... on... him... all alone...
On the edge of... seventeen
Just like the white winged dove...
Sings a song...
Sounds like shes singing...
Ooo baby... ooo... said ooo...
Just like the white winged dove...
Sings a song...
Sounds like shes singing...
Said ooo baby... ooo... said ooo
Well I went today... maybe I will go again...
Tomorrow
Yea yea well the music there well it was hauntingly...
Familiar
Well I see you doing...
What I try to do for me
With the words from a poet...
And a voice from a choir
And a melody... nothing else mattered
Just like the white winged dove...
Sings a song...
Sounds like shes singing...
Ooo baby... ooo... said ooo
Just like the white winged dove...
Sings a song...
Sounds like shes singing...
Ooo baby... ooo... said ooo
The clouds... never expect it...
When it rains
But the sea changes color...
But the sea...
Does not change
And so... with the slow... graceful flow...
Of age
I went forth... with an age old...
Desire... to please
On the edge of... seventeen
Oooooooooaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh.
Just like the white winged dove...
Sings a song...
Sounds like shes singing...
Ooo baby... ooo... said ooo
Just like the white winged dove...
Sings a song...
Sounds like shes singing...
Ooo baby... ooo... said ooo
Well then suddenly...
There was no one... left standing
In the hall... yeah yeah...
In a flood of tears
That no one really ever heard fall at all
Well I went searchin for an answer...
Up the stairs... and down the hall
Not to find an answer...
Just to hear the call
Of a nightbird... singing...
Come away...
Just like the white winged dove...
Sings a song
Sounds like shes singing...
Ooo... baby ooo... said ooo
Just like the white winged dove...
Sings a song...
Sounds like shes singing...
Ooo... baby ooo... said ooo
Well I hear you in the morning...
And I hear you...
At nightfall...
Sometimes to be near you...
Is to be unable... to hear you...
My love...
Im a few years older than you...
My love
Just like the white winged dove...
Sings a song...
Sounds like shes singing...
Ooo baby... ooo... said ooo

I’m not gonna write you a love song
’cause you tell me it’s make or breaking this
Is that why you wanted a love song
’cause you asked for it
’cause you need one, you see
I’m not gonna write you a love song
’cause you tell me it’s make or breaking this
If you’re on your way
I’m not gonna write you to stay
If your heart is nowhere in it
I don’t want it for a minute
Babe, I’ll walk the seven seas when I believe that
There’s a reason to
Write you
a love song
today

Thanks to my conversation with CovJr and his linking me to a Michael McDonald interview it's now:
keep forgettin we're not in love anymore
I keep forgettin things will never be the same again
I keep forgettin how you made that so clear
I keep forgettin every time that you are near
Every time I see your smile
Give you a hello, can you stay a while
Heaven knows it time for you to say the things
We both know are true
But darling I keep forgettin
We're not in love anymore
I keep forgettin things will never be the same again
I keep forgettin how you made that so clear
I keep forgettin every time I hear
How you never want to live a lie
How we're supposed to follow
You don't have to tell me why
Why you going
And why the game is through
If this is not true
If this is not true
Tell me how I keep forgettin
I'm in love with you
Hey babe
Things will never be the same, again
I keep forgettin how you made that so real
Yeah yeah baby
Don't say that
Don't say that
Don't say that
I know you're not mine, anymore
Any way
Any time
Tell me how we're not in love anymore
How come I
Things will never be the same
I keep forgettin how you made that so clear
I keep forgettin every time you are near
We're not in love anymore
Every time you're near me
Things will never be the same
Oh baby, how you made that so clear
Every time you are near

"It is the night. My body's weak.
I'm on the run. No time to sleep.
I've got to ride, ride like the wind to be free again.
And I got such a long way to go.
(such a long way!)
To make it to the border of Mexico.
So I'll ride, ride like the wind, to be free again."
Way, way back in the early '80s, SCTV did an absolutely hysterical skit with Michael McDonald tearing all over town with this music in the background, only to end up running into the recording studio to sing his line. Since that day in ('81? '82?), I have had that miserable f*cking Christopher Cross song stuck in my head.

About 12 years ago, I was tripping on shrooms and listening to Soundgarden's Down on the Upside CD over and over and over. It was a hard trip and I didn't want to move or do anything. Just soak up that music.
Now, over a decade later, "Blow up the Outside World" still runs through my head from time to time like a sonic flashback.
Blow up, the outside
Blow up, the outside
Blow up, the outside
Wooorrrllllddd!
Do you guys really have whole songs running through your head? Mine morph into other songs long before they've finished. They'll skip and repeat like a scratched record, then move on to another song.

Nah, sometimes I conciously choose to run through an entire song in my head - obviously something I know well. But as far as getting something stuck - it's usually something I only know partially; maybe only the chorus. And then I will frequently get a 30 second snippet stuck on "repeat"

Oh Gods I have to post under Menolly!

Oh well, this is
very serious:
"We all know that people are f-ed up and backstabbers wherever you go..."
One time in a million, and only if it's sung by the originals (now they're using it in some ridiculously dumb commercial), can I handle that song, please extract freakin'
Ebony and Ivory out of my head before I go
