It's no good running. . . they are tracking you on the GPS right now. You can run, but you can't hide.

Allright guys, here's what I can say about the trip thus far:
I arrive in Washington on Nov 13;
the conference runs from Nov 14 to Nov 19;
I leave Washington on Nov 20 and go to New York until Nov 24;
I leave NY on Nov 24 and come back to Washington, where I will stay until Nov 28;
I leave the U.S. on Nov 28, and that'll be the end of the trip.
Now, the conference is going to take most of the first week (especially on Monday, when I have to present the poster) but it is possible - and I hope it'll be the case! - that I'll have free time there. I have to go through the program and prepare an itinerary, after which I'll know for sure. After the conference is over, I'm completely free both during the stay in NY and the return to Washington; obviously, being my first trip to the US, I'd like to go around and see the sights, but that should still leave time for meetings and the like...

You intend to see those sights on your own? mm?

Xar, what time is your flight home on the 28th? Most folks will be off work that day.

My flight is around 9 pm, which means however that I'll have to be at the airport at least around 6 pm (considering it's an intercontinental flight and that there might be chaos at the airport), which in turn means I'll likely have to leave Washington DC around 5 pm... I think that day's going to be relatively frantic, especially because a colleague of mine who's going to take the same plane will be back in Washington early that morning, and he might want to join me and take a look at a museum or two before we leave...

Okay, well, then, it sounds like Friday's bad.
Everybody will also be off work on Thursday, but likely to be hanging with family, stuffing their faces and watching football (the American variety). So getting together then may be problematic, unless someone wants to host a KW Thanksgiving....
It's looking like dinner/drinks earlier in the week is going to be our best bet. Maybe Wednesday evening?

As far as I can say, Wednesday evening would be good... I haven't exactly fixed my schedule yet
On another note, out of curiosity, who would be showing up in Washington, and who would in NY?

New York City
For the same four days you'll be there.
With no plans to see anyone or do anything else.

I'll take the train into Grand Central Station as early as I can manage on Friday the 21st, and stay until at least 7 or 8 in the evening. Don't yet know whether or not Christy will be with me.

DC is still kinda up in the air, Xar. I haven't heard from anybody but Jay. You may be having dinner with just my daughters and me. But we'll see....

Don't you two go and just talk to him about Pantheon for 4 days straight!
He might never want to touch the game again!

The plan is: Pam seduces him, and I go through his laptop while they're... busy. Don't worry, Unzen's never bothered me, so I won't kill him off.

*giving plan some thought*

Good work, Fist...

...only if he agrees to such...
Otherwise, I'll find the huge Barnes and Noble and/or New York Public Library and keep myself occupied there...
...and any other place I can visit within my budget...
Oh man...I just realized I don't have
any clothes for NYC in November.
...layers...
Lots and lots of layers...
It will have to do...
