Oh, yeah! That was one of the few toys I actually had!
I thought he had a different name, though, like Afterburner or something. Meh, that shows how long its been since I paid attention to the series :/

The toy's name was Skyfire.

Mine said Jetfire. He was Skyfire in the cartoon, for some reason (and he looked substantially different), but the toy was definitely Jetfire. I was four years old; there was nowhere else I could have got the name from.
EDIT: In fact, at full size you can see on
this picture of the packaging that I found on Google that it says 'Jetfire.'
Take that, Loremaster!

Okay, I see Jetfire on the packaging. But it's technically a Veritech. Ask Admiral Gloval!

A swift Google tells me that's a Robotech thing. Thanks for making me cry by reminding me of Robotech. My completionist streak tells me I have to finish watching it, even though it may be the most boring series I've ever seen.

Heresy. I worshipped the show. Macross is outstanding!

That part is great, too. Southern Cross/Masters is forgettable, although the Robotech Masters are very good.

I agree with ebert... there, that is my short review.
the longer one:
2 out of 10
godawful. That's sums it up. This movie is a frik'n cliche of brainless action movies. Forget about plot, there is none really, and if you do try and follow motives and storyline, it's so full of holes (gaping, really) that it makes you want to stun-punch Michael Bay (even more than usual). And I can only hope that the makers of this movie intended to (lovingly) rip-off every other movie made, because its pathetic otherwise really. Chunks of Desperado, Matrix, even War of the Worlds are all plucked and placed word-by-word/shot-by-shot in here.
In the first movie, what annoyed me was the long bits of comedy between Shia's character and his parents. IN this movie it was the highlight!
Even the music is pathetic, uninspired and heard in so many movies already.
The FX are still stunning and so is Fox, but the movie as a whole is brainless. It was 5 hours of my life I will never get back -- oh, wait, it was 'only' two and a half hours long ....

Fun and terrible. Kind of like Rock-em-Sock-em Robots!
