depends on the running back...at 10 years, Barry Sanders had not lost anything in comparison to his rookie season. Granted, the fact that he took maybe four solid hits in a game had a LOT to do with that.
Yea, there's not many that can avoid the hits like he could. Most think it reflects better on them to bang into defense, but that usually means short career.
BTW, interesting article in SI about athletes going broke, or at least losing most of their earnings. The short career reminds me of one of the problems, they don't have any other skills and don't make wise investments.

CW - i also read that article. too many atheletes go for the get-richer-quicker themes. and we know the degree they got in college usually isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
The NFL draft is less than a week away give us what you believe to be your teams logical 1st round selection. ( try not to be a fan try to be realistic ). With the number five pick the Cleveland Browns pick Brian Orakpo, Longhorns.
I've really liked the Eagles offseason. I'd love to have Anquan but I'm wondering if he was really on the block as it appeared that no serious negotiations ever happened. Here's hoping the Andrews brothers stay healthy...

Just read an article that says that LT has been training and running hard for over a month and feels great. If Merriman gets back to 100% NFL QBs better beware. Cutler did the smart thing by getting out of Denver-I wouldn't want to have Merriman, Phillips and (1# draft choice Larry) English coming at me nonstop.
Firing the Off. Co. 1 week before the start of the regular season, can you say dumpster fire boys and girls? Dont feel bad though the Browns cant even name a starter at QB. , and the Bill's, and Cheifs also fired their Off.Co.'s. Some of us are going to have a very long season.
Eagles have some promising talent, Vick, Maclin and McCoy. Hopefully, defense can recover from JJ's death and Bradley's ACL tear, and offense can successfully use all the weapons (along w/Westbrook and Jackson).

It's possible-even though I'm really starting to dig Rodgers. Holding breath after tonight's game-almost glad I didn't take Pittz as a defense in any of my fantasy football leagues-hope Polumano is OK, he's a hell of a player, without him Steelers D radically changes...(I have a feeling it's going to be a really rough season for fantasy 'ballers in general)
