A thought about time travel

I'm very fond of TEfL. Yes, Heinlein's need to have people having sex who shouldn't be having sex is annoying here, as with every other book of his that I read. But at least it's not the main point of the book, like some of his. *looks up* Aside from that, though, I enjoyed it a lot.

It's also (cue the Twilight Zone music...) a book I bought from the aforementioned Oxfam shop. Although, (ok, you can stop the music now) last month I put the book down, with still a few chapters remaining - the time-travelling chapters - and haven't been able to pick up where I left off.

I was so looking forward to tapping the music variations into FL Studio when I'd finished reading the story. Not to worry I suppose, there's time enough for...oh heck! (cue the music again!)

That's a strange story, SG, and also quite funny.
There's maybe a perfectly simple explanation that just escaped your notice, but then again, who can say.

I think it was Jung that spoke about some kind of collective subconscious in order to dispel the freaky coincidence experience. You know the type. You suddenly think about someone you haven't seen in a long time and then the next day, from out of the blue, you bump into the person.
What Jung had to say about this I've absolutely no idea, and don't really care that much. I just accept that there's no such thing as a coincidence and for what ever reason leave it a that.

I popped into my local Oxfam shop today to see what books they had. I've scored some pretty cool books from that shop over the past two years. Anyway, there was nothing much there so I looked at the DVD and PC games. I was tempted to buy some Tetris games and thought for while if it was worth it, but bought Pink Floyd's live in Pompei instead as I've never seen it before...and as this stray's drastically from the main point, I'll leave it at that...

This was the point I was making. You see the last time I exchanged words with Shuram it was about a dream I had involving Roger Waters and a Pink Floyd in the park concert. I'm sure he remembers this and knew what I meant, where others might not.

But to attempt to make sense out of coincidence will always drive me round the twist, and as I said, it's something I find fascinating but will always leave it at that. The spiral-graphics of the universe is way, way, way, over my head.

I don't believe that time travel would be possible, but I believe that the first step towards the ability to travel through time is the ability to travel through empty space.

Everyone knows you need a DeLorean, a flux capacitor and some plutonium from Lebanese terrorists to make time travel work. Plus, you're all forgetting a very important fact: Marty McFly already went back in time and fixed everything. Twice.

AND he went to the future. The only thing you need to know about the future is hoverboards don't work on water, unless you've got POWAH!

You know, in Back to the Future, they made a big freaking deal about the stupid letter that Marty wrote to Doc. Well, correct me if I am wrong, as I have not watched the movie for quite some time, but didn't '55 Doc watch Marty's video that he brought back? Didn't the video end with, "They found me. I don't know how but they found me....Who do you think? The Libyans! Run for it, Marty!!!"? I dunno. Maybe he never watched the end of it. I can't remember.

But if he did, wouldn't Doc be smart enough to know that he needed some sort of protection, whether he read the letter or not? I dunno.

But now that you have got me going, does all this mean that Doc had a blue print in his brain for the time machine for thirty years, just sitting up there, waiting for some opportunity to get his hands on some plutonium? I find it hard to believe that crazy old, curious old Doc didn't build a TM with a lightning rod stick out of it, that he would take out driving during storms with his cruise set to 88 mph.

I figure, if he is cruising around in a thunderstorm at a constant 88 mph, with the time circuits on, that lightning rod is bound to catch a bolt sooner or later. Maybe,
