How weird is that - thats exactly how I pronounce it too! ( but do you say throat in the conventional way, or as 'throw-at' as do I, or does it come out as 'double decker bus' as I have heard that some people lean toward)

I talked about TCTC with another guy about 26 years ago. Some good conversations, but not enough, and I wasn't even 20 yet. Then a member here, Syl, pointed me here 7 years ago. And life was joyous. We all had so many huge discussions about so much 4-7 years ago that I don't often get too into depth now. But the old threads are still back there. heh

I've had the same debate with one of my friends about the appearance of a Haruchai. He thought they would look more oriental I thought they would be more African.

But the way I view them now is different. I relate the way a Haruchai looks in general to Esmer and in the second cover of Runes of the Earth I am certain that it is Esmer shown. So I go by that for a general reference to what a Haruchai looks like.

and I pronounce them Hah-roo-chI for Haruchai and Ran-i-hin for Ranyhyn

lol that's what I thought at first but you look at him and there's no other character it could be other than Esmer. The character's robes match and a big part of Esmer's character is his regard for the Ranyhyn. and Esmer was described to look mostly like his father Cail and the Haruchai

. That's how I came to that conclusion. I definitely always thought that they were African before that though

I agree that it's "supposed" to be Esmer, but he looks like an adult Frodo (Elijah Wood).
