Synes, synes, everywhere are synes
Blocking out the scenery, breaking my mind
Auld this, don't auld that
Can't you lang the synes?
;)

Murrin, that's interesting. I wonder whether anybody's going to mount a Bloomsday-style oral read of all of his works at midnight...

Happy new year, folks.

Could be an interesting year ahead of me. Rather than do nothing all year as usual, I've been planning a trip to Toronto. No particular reason I've chosen Toronto, just on a whim, but the point is I'll actually be out of the house doing new things. Nothing booked yet, hopefully I won't chicken out (I think just being able to say I've been to Niagara Falls will be enough to make me go through with it, really).

Hmm, how far is Niagara Falls from Chez Fist?

Murrin, did you know that World Fantasy Convention 2012 is in Toronto? Just sayin'....

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Fireworks from Sydney Harbor last night. (It's 9pm the following day now.)
Total overkill, but 'fully sick mate!'...

P.S. I didn't attend the above craziness. I don't do little crowds, let alone ginormous ones! But it does look impressive from a safe distance.

P.S. Thanks SD, I learnt another word from you:
"The wildebeest (plural wildebeest, wildebeests or wildebai), also called the gnu (play /ˈnuː/ noo or /ˈnjuː/ new)[1] is an antelope of the genus Connochaetes."

WFC isn't really a fan convention, though, more an industry professional thing. Worldcon, on the other hand, is probably going to be in London in 2014...

Took me ten posts to realise that this thread was actually several new years old.

Yeah...well...here we go again I guess.
