Played through my ears just now.
I awoke in a fever
The bedclothes were all soaked in sweat
She said "You've been having a nightmare
And it's not over yet"
And when she had turned back the covers
When all of the prayers had been read
She said
"Come on over here you silly boy before you catch your death of cold and I was only joking
Let's leave behind the city grime, let's not compete, it could be fine in the country
Couldn't it though ...
Come on let's go.
I said

"OK."

Beatles from the Let It Be album

You and me burning matches

I pick a moon dog
Well you can radiate everything you are

Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup

when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be.

Ev'rybody saw the sunshine.

I said move over once, move over twice
Come on baby don't be cold as ice.

All the girls around her say she's got it coming
But she gets it while she can

House in order

the sun just hurts my eyes.

Cages under, cages under, cages under cage.

Ooooo, we were little boys
Ooooo, we were little girls

Metal shivs on wood push through our back
There's a splinter in your eye and it reads "REACT", R-E-A-C-T

It's been pretty simple so far, vacation in Athens is calling me

I look at her and I see the beauty
Of the light of music

I made a list of things to say
But all I really want to say
All I really want to say is
Hold her and keep him strong
While I'm away from here
Hold her and keep her strong
While I'm away from here

Dusk is dawn is day
Where did it go?

Harrisburg :

Romero got married on the fifth of July
In our Lady of Immaculate Dawn
Could have got married in the revival man's tent
But there ain't no reviving what's gone
Slipped like a shadow from the family he made
In a little white house by the woods
Dropped the kids at the mission, with a rose for the virgin
She knew he was gone for good

It's a long way to Heaven, it's closer to Harrisburg
And that's still a long way from the place where we are
And if evil exists its a pair of train tracks
And the devil is a railroad car

Could have stayed somewhere but the train tracks kept going
And it seems like they always left soon
and the wolves that he ran with they moaned low and painful
sang sad misereres to the moon

(chorus)

Rose at the altar withered and wilted
Romero sank into a dream
He didn't make Heaven, he didn't make Harrisburg
He died in a hole in between
Some say that man is the root of all evil
Others say God's a drunkard for pain
Me I believe that the Garden of Eden
Was burned to make way for a train

Steve Earle:

Was I off somewhere,
or maybe just too high
See, I can't remember
If we said goodbye

An absolutely devastating song.

With the quickness strike out for the less of us doubt
Mercy of the man who put the pen in our mouth
Word write us well signed, "Forgiveness for sale"
I'm through being full of all the might you want killed

time just fades the pages
in my book of memories

i knew the storm was getting closewr
and all my friends said i was high
but everything we've ever known here
i never wanted it to die

i know the things you wanted
they're not what you have

A man reacting to an overdose:
They Might Be Giants wrote:Clearing my throat and gripping the lecturn

Clearing his throat and smiling with his hands on the bathroom sink
And Roger Water's tribute to the Tiananmen Square massacre:
Roger Waters wrote:And she is different from Cro-Magnon man
She's different from Anne Boleyn
She is different from the Rosenbergs
And from the unknown Jew
She is different from the unknown Nicaraguan
Half superstar half victim
She's a victor star conceptually new
And she is different from the Dodo
And from the Kankabono
She is different from the Aztec
And from the Cherokee
She's everybody's sister
She's a symbolic of our failure
She's the one in fifty million
Who can help us to be free
Because she died on TV
And I grieve for my sister
