 And I could run around calling people "Groveller" and do horrible genetic experiments with Uruk-hai and Ur-Viles, and all sorts of nasty stuff. It'd be awesome. I might even break the Arch of Time! 8O Goody! :D

You know, I'd buy one of those myself and one for my wife.
And when she asks me what the symbols mean I'd tell her it was a beautiful and romantic marriage saying written in Old English.

(Hey, before you bash me remember she's got one too!)

I think you all take this whole movie situation way too seriously. Movies are an entirely different medium than books thats the beauty of it. If in the worst case the movies if ever made turn out bad well then so what we will still have ten perfectly crafted books we can revisit. And if it turns out good then we'll have a terrific movie of our favourite book. It can't be stopped, a movie will be made and there is already a lot of interest in a movie being made. I for one have faith at least that if there is a movie made it will be made by competent people who understadn the material. A TC movie wouldn't have to follow the typical Hollywood movie format. There are hundreds of movies made in Hollywood and outside of it that are very unique adn interesting.

It's fun to contemplate, but personally I give it about a 3 in 100 chance at this point. Otherwise, I agree with you.

I think that a series show on SC FI would be a better than an all out movi there you could be left in some suspence throught the adventures of Covenant in the Land.

Nope. Don't trust Sci-Fi (oh so many reasons). If you doubt me, talk to LeGuin. Showtime, maybe.
