But you'd never know if you didn't go for it, n'est-ce pas? You have to make mistakes in life to know whether or not it is something you want. Few mistakes can't be undone, and you tough through the ones that you can't change. But living a life of inaction is hardly a life. You have to take chances to get the better rewards. At least that is my thinking, especially when it comes to love.
There's two stories of life
That contain all the facts
One's told to your face
The other's told to your back
Which one to believe
Well, that's all up to you
Also to decide which one will come true
Is it the one where love
Is the pounding of a drum
A lone soldier on a hill
An army of one?
Is it the one where love
Is a peace between two
A harmony?
Thanks, Cags.

Lemme know when you have that conversation with her IRL, so I can be far away.

(She doesn't have much use for Styx, either...)

Oh, and what I left out of the original post is that at least you got two wonderful children that really care for you out of it, so there.

right behind our trip to the last Elohim Fest. we stopped to see the Alamo, Carlsbad Caverns and Roswell before ending up meeting everyone and having a blast in Albuquerque.

I question Lucimay's utter hatred of Journey, after all, weren't there like 9 witnesses that morning at brunch when she spontaneously broke out into singing a Journey song? Aliantha and Damelon both were there...

I actually used to despise Journey. Then my husband said quietly one day (
Don't Stop Believin' was playing on the car radio) "I love this song. I know it's corny but I always loved it." I took another listen and it's actually a really good song.
But my "goodpost" smiley was actually meant for Cag's post.

I don't care for Foreigner or Night Ranger. Styx, on the other hand...

Ssssshhh, Jenn! She swore us to secrecy, remember?
Wasn't there something else we were sworn to secrecy about? Something about a duet involving danlo...? (I am *so* dead...)

I did indeed.

OH! Were we sworn to secrecy? I must have forgotten that part...

Guess she's gonna have to find time to hang out with me in order to punch me as punishment and she better punch me in the eye and not the mouth, new teeth and all....

The "Fetch Me A Pic" game reminded me of a man I had a long and torrid love affair with, an extremely talented musician; we literally made beautiful music together. But we were NOT right for each other. We were crazy for each other and made each other mad for seven years.
We are still friends in the sense that we communicate every couple of years just to catch up. He still takes my breath away. But I haven't seen him in 25 years. He just finally married someone and I am very happy for him. I married a couple of years after ending things with him and am very happy I did. But it's just funny that he and I were so passionate and understood almost too much about each other and I think if we had married it would have been excruciating.

That's interesting, Deer. I had a similar, very intense, very bad relationship like that. I wrote a whole post about it in response, but then decided to delete it. Too much personal information on the internets! Just to say, though, I can totally relate. And, I checked up on how he was doing a couple years back and found that he got married and treated his wife exactly how I assumed it would go if I stayed. That poor woman.

Congrats Null!
Why do we marry the people we do? That's a great question!
I feel lucky - and I think my wife is lucky too.

She helped me out of an insecure crappy place, and I helped her out of a conservative, judgemental place.
I'm into sport, she's not. I'm into music, she is to a degree, but nothing much that I like and vice versa.
We both work bloody hard. We both compromise a lot which really seems to be the key to the success of our relationship.
In December this year, we'll have been together 20 years, and married 14. May it continue!
