I'm so confused. Is it Linden with the bouffant??!

It's just Marie Antoinette and Quasimodo playing a video game which features a Rhino-Man and a Bird-Man fighting each other. Pure nonsense :P
Covenant is Linden Frankenstein's monster.

Haha, I guess it's Linden and Covenant contesting for the right to wield white gold. Works for me. What with having panthers and dragons in Russian/Czech Covenant covers, a video game wouldn't be far-fetched at all.

Thanks everyone for participating (loving all the entries!) and Null for the extra alms. I'll put up a poll tomorrow and spice up the prizes, leaving a small amount aside for the third place. The winner doesn't need to follow this pattern.

Yesyes still must doodle the crown. Bear with me, I was for a week away from the country. ;)

What?? I thought she should have to come over too the city of all entrants and sweep the floor. That sounds reasonable to me. Our hustomte is expecting her already an will be angry if she doesn't come.
Remember I'm a zombie and thus have bound alliances with the sinister inhabitants of Helheim. My kalmanväki/illvættir will rise forth from the ground and eat your hustomte, should he get too bossy. To prevent such calamity, he ought to be content serving his own mistress. :P Besides, you wouldn't want random ectoplasm trails on your floors.

Deer: hustomte means 'house-elf', not exactly as in Harry Potter, yet Rowling's sources lie in Nordic mythology. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomte

Alrighty, the voting thread's lurking here: kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=884768#884768
Please vote since it's impossible for me to judge the winner(s) alone.

New up-scaled prizes added to the first post.

Thanks, deer! :)

Sorry I'm late with this; RL's kept me busy and quite exhausted lately.

Results: #1 Wayfriend, #2 Deer, #3 shared by Ananda and Shuram. Thanks everyone for participating and congrats!

The scepter of the contest leader shall now be consigned to Wayfriend. I'll be tossing sacks of gold to everyone briefly. Aye, everyone, since I'll split the third place glories.

Here's a banner (unfortunately can't see if there's pixelation after downsizing; used a very low compression factor however):

Image

If it looks ok enough, I'll hand over the codes. I'd rather post it to the album than my own webspace; does anyone know if one can hotlink images from there?

Tested Album hotlinking and couldn't get it to work. So it's in imageshack now (don't have a photobucket account).

Put this code into your signature to vaunt your glorious achievement:

Also adding this to the 1st post for future reference.

Hi everyone. Was out of town yesterday, came back to see the winner was announced.

Thanks, Zorm. Thanks, fellow contestants, for a great game. And thank you all you voters!

I've always felt that bad illustrating doesn't just reflect on the artist, but it also reflects on Art. All bad art should have Art in it, somewhere. And when we have Art in our bad art, we are all winners.

The monkey's name is Art, by the way. Did I mention that? :)

Good question, Ananda!

Do I understand this correctly? I have to pose a new idea for a Bad Illustrating Contest, judge the entries, and award prizes to the winners? Give away the money I just won...

And give up my crown?!?!?!

Well, okay. Let me think upon it.

That would be no 'bad' thing. These competitions are so warped that their effect ripples out to affect many parts of the Watch. Since wayfriend won his crown and added it to his sig every thread that he posts on has been widened off the screen. People (well I do, anyway) have to scroll over and back to read the posts. (As if the 'Tank wasn't annoying enough, it's effect is worst there.) Have you people no mercy!

I lurk on these 'bad' threads and sometimes vote on the entries. I voted for wayfriend's entry here (I loved the happy Covenant (and Art, of course )) so I feel partially responsible for the ripple effect across the Watch. Sometimes good deed cause bad results

unforeseen consequences? - alas!

Lurking? Then, that would make you... the monkey?
In a way, are we then, all lurkers in the story worlds we visit?
Or are we there by the authors' invitations? ...makes ya think, I tell you.

Ya know, you could just go the confrontational route, and ask wayfriend if he would please organize the parts of his sig in a diff way so they don't widen the threads so much. ;)
(not that I don't fall far short of a standard of 'being usefully confrontational' repeatedly in more important situations than this myself)
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor

"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."

Are you trying to say,'Thou Art!'.

Nah! wayfriend gets more than his fair share of the 'confrontational route' in the 'Tank :(

I just thought I'd spur ye all along and in doing so the problem would work itself out. Unless of couse the next person to add it to their sig caused some similar (or worse!) problem. At that point I might review my tactics, enter and win the competition and then abscond with the offending banner

I'm glad people speak so fondly of my crown! :P :P If I ever get the role of the contest host back, I could place this abomination into my sig for all the earth to groan over:

Image

And even a bigger version still exists! MUAHAHAHAHAAAAH!!!!!1

Now that I've had my Lord Foul moment, perchance I could also ask for a new topic? ;) For instance, I would've rather submitted this dreadful mess to one than to a Gendisc thread.

Okay, I've added a <br/> to my sig. Now it's tall instead of wide. Excepting wherever a thread is already wide due to giant bad art crown pictures.

But seriously, why not something like this, eh? Image

Simple ... elegant ... understated ...

(Yes, I owe a contest... thinking about it ... )
