Sticking to Cape Cod (but not necessarilly Falmouth) it looks like we could get something that sleeps 10 to 16 for $250-$500 per night. (Math: $20 to $50 per night per body.) And even get walking distance to the beach. I haven't made any calls yet.

Just for flavor ...

I'm not seeing anything to object to. (I think I like the 2nd one the best. But I get that these are just examples.)

$20-$50 a night I can swing for a night or two. I also volunteer to make an enormous breakfast one morning for everyone. I'm still planning on being there, unless things change last minute. When are the dates again?

no changes allowed. You MUST be there. Or we will all come stay with you.

It's getting to be time to cowboy up, I hate to say. I need some commitments from people so I can make a reservation (presuming I should).

It's probably best to use PMs or emails. Please contact me soon if you'd like to throw some money towards renting a house, and let me know what you can do. ALSO please contact me if you'd like to stay at the rented house, regardless of anything other considerations. (I know we had people counting on an earlier R&B situation, and I don't want to lose anyone.)

I'll see if we can make it all work out. I will post back on how it's proceeding in general. We should try to wrap this up shortly, so that I can make a reservation.

Let me make up a completely arbitrary deadline of Aug 1.

[PS]
What I need to know is:
- how many people
- which days and nights
- what dollars you can contribute

We are going to need an amount somewhere in the order of $1000-$1500. What we end up with decides what we can get. And remember we want everyone there, even those that were counting on free lodging in order to make it.

No way I can come, but some of the new guys are pretty techie. :borg: If you all get cameras, I can just PM you instructions to link them all. You'll probably be a bit cheaper that way. Actually, if you hit up a school, some smaller ones will loan you old laptop carts, and if you hook up cameras, each Watchy gets their own screen, and it'll be pretty similar.

I got a few responses, but the amount of money that people are willing to chip in for a house, as far as I can confirm, is far less than $500. So I am not going to make any reservations unless this changes greatly. Possibly someone else would have better luck.

It looks to me that we're going to have to cancel this one.

Yeah, and it makes me sad. :( Bah. :(

I think at this time of year it's hard getting people to respond in the forum. (Alas, not many people attach an e-mail address to their profile.)

I wouldn't have pulled the cancel plug.

Well, you're the host, Way -- if you don't want to cancel yet, then don't. :)

Maybe we can get danlo to spam the membership again...

Well, I volunteered to rent the house. Is this some sort of retro-active promotion that precedes lynching the executive officers responsible for this mess? :P

I've been pretty silent despite living in the area, sorry.
My job makes free time unpredictable so I don't even want to say I'm in.
Fortunately I can drive where ever you guys end up so I'm hoping......
