When I hit the lottery, I may take you up on that. If I have connected the dots correctly over time, I think we are in similar roles, so I could probably guest-star in your place for a week without bolloxing things too much...or raising expectations too much.

What does iQuestor do? Maybe I can offer both of you the deal you mention...and get both stories finished.

Hah! And yeah, I was actually thinking that not many people would get a second chance to say the second 'nom', when they make the 'om nom nom' sound!

And heheheh wayfriend, yes that's definitely true, with that cat! Same with my dog, actually; although we don't even need to say his name to summon him, when it's time for him to eat - he hears the door a mile away, and often bolts across ~10 acres in no time at all!

So the trick to get readers here approximately at all and not having to listen to crickets for a year is to write a cliffhanger and leave it hanging precariously from the cliff for a couple of years?

Oh wow, just finished White Gold Wielder last night, after a ~120 page marathon through Mount Thunder, and boy was it something! (heh I didn't get a terribly good sleep after it though, which is the only problem!)

But yeah, you can certainly tell that SRD planned the Second Chrons and the Last Chrons at the same time, for sure. Especially as at the end Coveneant clearly states that Foul hasn't been destroyed; merely beaten back into his weakened state. (plus that the Sunbane would accelerate his recovery, unless it was purged from the Land) And yeah, it was good to see that Pitchwife and the First - especially Pitchwife, with his freshly-ruptured lung - were healed and able to depart the mountain, as I had feared that there would be another 'Foamfollower situation', where they would die in the blast, or something.

Naturally I'm quite excited to get reading the Last Chrons, but at the same time I wouldn't mind a bit of a change in scenery, so to speak, (I've been reading TCoTC for a good few months now, heh) and as I found the first two volumes of The Gap Sequence in one handy volume, I'll be sure to give that a try first, while I find a means to procure copies of the Last Chronicles.

Congratulations. :D

You can also try the Mordant's Need duology. It's very good.

Here is the answer:

Tulls Tale, The Illearth War, pp 297:
The land which the Old Lords had given to the Giants for a home was wide and fair... But although they used the land -- cultivating the rolling countryside with crops of all kinds, planted immense vineyards, grew whole forests of the special redwood and teak trees from which they crafted their huge ships -- ...

While I eagerly await the next installment of Nom's Garden, iQuestor is slower than either Wayfriend or SRD. We've been waiting far longer for the conclusion of It cannot now be set aside, nor passed on.
I know, I know. I havent forgotten. Thanks for remembering. didnt know anyone was still keeping up with it here. I am however working on it. Honest. In preparation I have been re-reading the first chrons. I was reading TIW when I came across the quote above, andremember the OP question regarding the Giants ships.
