Most of my favorite artists are UK-based as well. European rock tends to sound more pleasing and interesting to my ears than North American rock. WHY that is, though, might need a psychological essay to explain..

Highly subject to change, but these will always have a high place on the list even if they aren't in the current top 5:
Rush: Well, anything by Rush.
Lake of Tears: Fantasy metal from Sweden, one of the best bands no one has ever heard of.
Pink Floyd/Roger Waters: Again, no way I could pick a single album.
Led Zeppelin: Most of what I own are compilation albums, but I think they cover a pretty broad spectrum.
Dio: Solo, Sabbath, Rainbow, Elf. In that order.
Today's Honorable Mentions:
Blue Oyster Cult (May I have a sixth? Please?)
Joni Mitchell
Dream Theater (Nice to see them on the list so many times.)
David Bowie
Peter Gabriel/Genesis
...I'll add to the list later.

1. Radiohead.
2. Dissection.
3. The Smashing Pumpkins.
4. Sigur Rós.
5. Ayreon.
Not too sure about that last one, as there's a few bands that are about tied for 5th place.

My top 5 hasn't changed at all--above are just the CDs and groups I've been listening to the most in past month. (However, Shinedown is rapidly rising through my alltime top 10).
