Eh, a WoW geek can't roll their eyes at a Magic: The Gathering geek. (Never played, but I know people who do.)

All the freakin' colors of the rainbow to choose from, and you want me to knit with *black*? No. Just no.)
I love the black fingerless gloves you made me, and the color choice was due to trying to sneak them past dress code. (It worked.)
Sorry if it was an annoying request, but now I feel special.

I made some for Jenn, too. And Luci, I think? Then I drew the line. (Glad you still like the gloves!

This made me realize what an Americana music geek I was years ago. I read biographies of Kitty Wells, Patsy Cline, Woody Guthrie, Marty Robbins, Elvis Presley, the Carter family, Johnny Cash... I learned, played on a '52 Gibson LG2, and forgot more of those songs than most people ever knew.

I was reanalyzing Sunday's logs from GT's heroic Archimonde attempts because there's a discipline priest in that group who outperforms my disc priest by miles. There wasn't a huge difference between our talent builds. I don't think switching Spirit Shell for Power Infusion will make a big difference, nor will swapping Clarity of Will for Words of Mending. He actually was specced into Clarity of Will, though he didn't use it much on that fight and Words of Mending seems more recommended for my level of gear. At any rate, it's a passive effect. I did change the major glyph on my Power Word: Shield to the one that takes two seconds off the debuff. I also changed my Mindbender to Power Word: Solace, which I don't usually use because it has to be used every 10 seconds to be fully effective, and that's a pain. But worth a try, it's easy enough to switch back. I am debating whether or not to switch the enchantment on my staff from Spirit to Mastery, mainly because I hate giving up Spirit. My Multistrike is also low, but there isn't much I can do about that. And a squirrel is about to steal your socks, which I'm just throwing in because I doubt anyone is still reading this.
There. NOW you have a reason to roll your eyes.

It's an SF thing. Back when I was commuting to another city for work, I could always spot the other SF people because they'd be the only ones dressed in black. (Though I didn't notice until someone pointed it out to me.) Weird but true.
(Miss you, Jenn and Luci!)

I suppose I am also a pretty serious Bible geek. I read and journal on it every day. I went to college for it, for gosh sakes. It's such a part of my life and who I am I don't even think about it or consider life without it. I suppose that makes me an addict, more than a geek!

I actually did read this to see if it made any more sense to me than my son's explanations of video games, which just sounded like he was speaking in tongues although I TRIED to understand. I really did. The squirrel didn't even stand out, because it made as much sense to me as the rest of it.

I'm kinda geeking out lately on two tv shows - Community and the kid's show Phineas and Ferb. Although in my heart of hearts, it's really for the parents.

I changed some of my character's abilities in an attempt to improve my performance on a boss fight. Also, beware of sock-stealing squirrels.

had a dream about writing a Marvel comic, so I am geeking on finding some of the characters in back issues.

These last week or two, I've actually been geeking on math contest problems...
Back in January, it started out as "running scared," (hoping I could keep ahead of my students & have something to give them each week) not "gleefully geeking."
But... the effect that the enthusiasm & energy of the little smartie whipper-snappers would have on me:
I didn't factor that into the equation!
One of them drops a reference to Brahmagupta's formula, (which I'm pretty sure I never learned) and once I'm home I'm searching it up online.
Also, I was amused by the MTG & WoW geekiness back there in this thread...

I cherish my ignorance of it.

(OK, so I went and Googled it too.)

Hah!
Btw, apparently South Africa hosted the 2014 International Math Olympiad.
Anyway, on a "completely unrelated" note, since we're talking about "geeking on" stuff...
does anybody else use the verb "nerd-sniping"?

Does anybody else use it for the completely non-violent act of getting another person engaged with an interesting problem to the point that everything else fades into the background for that person?
