You are all so sweet! But now you might have created a silly kind of monster out of me...
Beware!

Plains of Ra: silly (and sexy) can both be used to describe Fist and Faith

Well, certainly silly works.
There's room to be both silly and serious. For silly just look at the pr0n thread. For serious there's Disecting the Land. We are a community bound by a common interest, but everyone here has other interests too, and we certainly shouldn't be dogmatic about what we discuss as long as we participate in the serious discussions as well as the silly. There's room for all.

Nobody who knows you thinks you're paranoid, Fist.

Plains has just over-adjusted his sight a little, that's all. He'll get in focus.

No, nobody said anything. All is as silent as the deep plains.

I agree, there is a technical excellence to KW. Considering how many -- many! -- thousands of posts need to be organized, it's really remarkable how easy it is to get around once you're acquainted with it.

Matrixman, you certainly didn't sound like an angry fool to me. I agree with a lot of it. I've been involved in HUGE discussions about serious TCTC topics. When someone brings them up again, I usually just bump the old threads. If they bring a new slant to it, I'll join in. Entirely new TCTC topics that get me going are rare, indeed. But it happens occasionally. In between, I think I can safely say that
nobody has more fun here than me!!

Others have theirs in different ways, and maybe they have just as much fun, but I'm telling you, I sit here cracking myself up sometimes!

That should be his title
But on a more serious note...
I, like Dromond and Duchess, have been a little concerned about the dissipation of TC discussion, though Matrixman has a good point - after several years, it's understandable that the number of fresh TC topics would diminish. I think I'm just concerned that the board might become directionless - in my experience, boards that have no central theme of discussion tend to go astray. Don't get me wrong, silliness is no problem - I can be relentlessly silly at times - and KW has always been so (after all, two of the longest-standing members are Danlo and Skyweir, and we all know what they're like

)...but for the vacuous "general" topics to exceed all the TC discussion put together unnerves me. Call me set in my ways

but it just makes me uncomfortable. *sigh* I don't know...

To be honest, it would be a rare thing indeed to find a board out there that has more discussions taking place in the core forums than in the general forums.
In essence, forums are simply places for people to socialise online. If there's nothing compelling about the place then they leave and find somewhere else.

They're often not discussions though, or even conversation in some cases...
