The button filled him with the kind of dread you get when you are utterly doomed to repeat the horrible, awful, unquestioningly bad mistakes of someone else's past.

Mallory stood silently staring at the Holy Launch Button until he was startled by the sound of none other than King Daniel himself noisily entering the room from a door on the opposite side of the chamber.

[dANdeLION]

unfortunately, the chamber could not support the combined weight of Mallory, King Daniel, the Holy launch button, and the two enormous run-on sentences; all fell to their deaths; and there was much rejoicing.

[aTOMiC]

Thankfully the fall and the deaths were all part of a three dimensional simulation designed to warn the residents of Southerland Castle about the dangers of placing too much weight on any given floor and Mallory, after the simulation ended, turned to King Daniel and asked where were all of his subjects.

King Daniel surreptitiously removed a paper from his pocket, consulted it, and rehearsed inaudibly what it told him to say, then returned the paper to his pocket before he spoke.

[aTOMiC]

"Ahem; I, King Daniel, the Monarch of the entirety of the Southerland Realm, and of any new environs that Southerland Castle may find herself, do hereby declare for the record that the fate of the citizenry in my care is of the utmost importance to me and that I further state, unequivocally, that any harm that may have come to said populace has been perpetrated in a fashion that is far beyond the understanding of mortals and simple folk such as yourself."

[dANdeLION]

Then King Daniel, laughing lilk a drunken clown, once again pushed the Holy Launch Button.

[aTOMiC]

The ground shook as the citadel-class spaceship Southerland Castle threw off the soil and gravity, which was her port.

[dANdeLION]

"These pretzels are making me thirsty" the king exclaimed.

[aTOMiC]

Then King Daniel suddenly dropped his ample weight upon the throne and groaned repeatedly as if he had harmed himself internally by pushing the Holy Launch Button and sending Southerland Castle once more into space.

[dANdeLION]

She rode in on a white horse, symbolizing innocence and purity; but the satchel full of skulls she was carrying suggested otherwise.

[aTOMiC]

Without a moment's hesitation she galloped directly toward the startled king and in one fluid motion drew her sword from its scabbard, lopped off his head with a single stroke, and left as suddenly as she had appeared.

At a time when fashion was the exception, his was no exception.

[aTOMiC]

Was the phrase Mallory muttered as he stood aghast, trying to compute what he had just witnessed whilst frantically wiping at the drops of blood that had splattered his face.
