Mulder and Scully: spend years and years traveling the globe, avoiding death from a dozen different directions, jumping down as many rabbit holes as they can find, in hopes of bringing proof of aliens to the public. Fail.

The Navy: LOL let's post some videos on Facebook.

I was thinking, maybe these could be self-replicating Boltzmann objects, but I think the probability of those would be less than aliens. What about a utility fog with advanced holographic projection capabilities? The units of the fog would move in whatever way those are supposed to (I honestly have no idea how nanobots or other micromachines are supposed to move, especially in a cloud form), which would be relatively imperceptible, wouldn't generate noticeable wake(?). Meanwhile, they project holograms of more macroscopic structures moving in these incredible ways.

I don't know how plausible any of that really is. If it is plausible enough, then I wonder how far beyond human technological reach such systems are. I'm not as much of a fan of Occam's razor as I used to be (I've gotten used to the opposite principle in set theory), so I don't want to defer strictly to such a "rule," but I guess I will say that it might seem "more likely" that the government is being dishonest about their tech capacities, than that aliens sent these devices to Earth. But I can't honestly say that I have much basis for this probability assignment. At best, it would be like my opinion on evidence that various ancient superstructures on Earth required more than the known methods of antiquity, to be built: well, then, not ancient aliens, but a previous human civilization that desolated itself somehow, maybe. Who knows, maybe there was an ancient human civilization that didn't totally vanish and they've developed this machinery in the meantime?

Isn't there a theory that the US Government were quite happy with, if not actively behind, the stories of the alien 'crash' at Roswell, because it threw a smokescreen over work that they had been doing with prototype vehicles or some such?

Possible that they learned from that and are still making use of this means of deception whenever necessary to this very day? More likely, I'd think, than our actually having been visited by aliens.

From what I hear, the much vaunted "release" of information didn't really do anything except create further questions.

Seems Z's post above is probably a highly likely scenario that would explain many such encounters with "UAP's"

The front page of today's Star (a pretty low grade newspaper in the UK it has to be admitted) has the headline that french air force jets have been involved in encounters with alien craft, even to the extent of having their weaponry disabled in dogfights with them.

(Being the Star) The headline is given a comedy twist, but it is a newspaper and so one assumes there is at least something behind the story - probably not what is implied but at least some kind of encounter that they don't understand. But the simple fact of appearing in this newspaper knocks pounds off the credibility of the story anyway.

Book Review: Former Pentagon insider says U.S. unwilling to release all its UFO info

Everyone should get this book and read it immediately. It's the biggest story in the history of mankind.

Disclosure is happening. This is how it's being done. The people who know are waiting for the rest of you to catch up, to acknowledge what's happening right in front of us. It's real. They've been trying to tell you since 2017. This is the man who got the ball rolling, the reason why those famous three videos were released by the Navy (Tic Tac, Gimbal, and Go Fast). He ran both AAWSAAP and AATIP, the Department of Defense programs that were studying the threat of UAPs (UFOs). Our military is encountering them on a daily basis, including near collisions. This has been happening for decades, but it has only been recently that pilots have been able to come forward and report their encounters without risking their jobs.

We are not alone. We are not the apex species on this planet. We are being watched by more intelligent species. Plural. And that's not even the weirdest part . . .

I just finished the book. I'm stunned. Not only is this real--WE ARE NOT ALONE--but Congress knows, too, and they have been crafting legislation for the last few years to force the Dept of Defense to share what it knows. This is moving forward. All the Congressional hearings and reports on the issue in the last few years have been because of THIS guy. And after the hearings were over, Congress got to work crafting the necessary legislation to implement a slow disclosure to the American people.

You can get ahead of the curve by reading this book.

It would be the coolest thing that ever happened. I don't imagine I'll ever see any of them. But it could change our world beyond imagining.

I didn't realize it at the time, but this guy (Luis) is the reason this thread exists. The reason the Navy started a reporting program for their pilots to come forward was because of legislation that this guy (and his team) pushed Congress to write. And every year, they keep inserting more into the defense spending bills to push the issue forward. But the DoD is fighting them every step of the way.

When the three famous videos first came out, I was baffled by the government finally changing its position from denial to releasing actual footage of UFOs. This book tells that story. The government didn't change its mind. One man just decided to fight the system and got those videos declassified--even to his own surprise, it turns out.

What the UAP Disclosure Act of 2024 Means For UFO Sightings
Then in July, Senator Mike Rounds of South Dakota proposed to Congress the UAP Disclosure Act of 2024. If passed, the Act would establish oversight, a review board, and a public disclosure plan for the next seven years.

It has begun! Disclosure is here!

The President's (elect) own son is declaring to the world that we're not alone and there's a crash retrieval program!

This is the moment! We're about to have it acknowledged. The world is about to change.
