Ahhhh!!!! *screeches and falls out of chair* For a minute, I thought I got the wrong site. :?

Yes, it's very confusing. Reminds me of coffee. Mmmm.... coffee....

Um, do they do that a lot?

No, but this is cool. :) Ah, good, the other smilie guy is back.

Furls Fire wrote:Vain, quick observation here...I was looking in "Dissecting" and all the quotes are a pale pale white on a black background. Very very hard to see. Don't think that is going work, it's like the spoiler, only you can barely see the characters. :?

Lord Foul wrote:Spoiler works.

And it's not that ya can't see the quotes--ya can if ya strain--but the only way to really read them like we used to is to highlight them. Bah, that's too much effort for these old bones . . .
Hopefully that's better? :)
Damelon wrote:Don't like it..... Too dark and too hard to see the type.
The text is set a little off-white currently. Would it be better for you if it was completely white?
kevinswatch wrote:Woah, wacky. I have nothing to do with this, heh. Although I don't know how soon I'll get used to the dark backround with light text...

Oh, by the way, the Administrators don't show up in the members list at the bottom. Same color as the background, heh.-jay
The admins are now a nice visible yellow ;)
amanibhavam wrote:Could it be an option to choose themes in Profile? Right now this new theme seems to overwrite the deafult SubSilver phpBB theme, and even the other choice is a brown/orange one.

I do not really like this new theme. Very demanding of one's eyes.
I'll work on that as we go but for now I'd like to settle on one set of colours and work from there. Let me know what specifically is demanding - text too bright/dark etc and I'll see what I can do about it :)

I don't care what color SRD's site is, I hate this. The only way I can tell where things are is by knowing where they used to be and looking for a barely discernable shadow. It would be impossible to find my way around if I were a newby.

Not to mention the eyestrain from looking at it for any length of time.

I'm keeping my avatar in hopes that you will soon put the site back on a white-based field where it will look decent.

I don't find it hard to navigate, but I think i prefer the old colour scheme.

Yeah, personally, I like light backrounds with dark text. Can't we just edit this color theme so that the backround of the text fields are a light backround with dark text?-jay

I don't mind the change, but I haven't been here long enough to get used to any set standard :) I am glad that the lil smilie guy has gotten rid of his festive hat though ;)

I do know one thing--you'll never please everyone :D

You can at least try not to have it painful to look at.

Sorry if I'm cranky, but my eyes feel like I've been reading for 6 hours straight -- which I haven't.

I am finding the dark background very hard on my eyes. I really prefer the light background that we had before.

Drat ! you guys have cottoned on. I'm going to restore the original colours - I think I need to practice a bit more on the end product before releasing it but it's been a worthwhile exercise - I'll apologise for the inconvenience
