It's definetly true that none of the characters are clearly hero's or villians, but here's my view on a few of them.
One of the more minor characters I would definetly class as a hero is Dolphe. Unlike Min who just follows orders he is there looking out for his crew, and he will question orders he isnt happy about. He does strive to do the right thing, even if he does eventually let Min make the decisions. And I'd question whether Min should be described as a hero or not, as she questions some of the orders from Warden, believing they're wrong, but eventually deciding to go along with them. She has a great faith in him, despite some of his actions in the past. His decision to supress the anti-mutagen, admitedly on holt's orders, is clearly not a good heroic thing. It's bad. And despite knowing that Warden follows Holts orders Min still carries out his orders.
Dios is clearly a hero though, he made some mistakes to begin with and has suffered for them. Eventually he concludes that he has to gain Holt's trust, and for that he must do more acts of evil. But it's a neccessary evil for the greater good. Holt's goals and intentions are clearly centered around his personal gain, and men like that shouldn't be allowed to get so powerful.
Similarly I believe that Mikka, Ciro, Sib and Vector are all hero's. Granted they were illegals, and have done a number of attrocities as such. But only because they were forced into a corner and had little other choice. Eventually they do the right thing however.
Without a doubt the Hylands are hero's. All their actions are centered around doing the good and right thing, and protecting their own humanity.
It's not until you get to Angus or Hashi however that I believe the line gets a bit more blurred. Without a doubt Angus isn't a hero in the real story, but as the series goes on he does good deeds under his computers orders, and as his actions become more his own doing his deeds remain good.
Now Hashi is a different matter, I can't make my mind up on his character. I really like him as a character, but at the same time he isn't orientated so much with whats right and wrong. Rather he seems to enjoy the machinations he creates. However when he discovers Dios's machinations are so much more complex than his own he seems more content in helping him complete his goals whatever they may be.
That's my views on the hero's and villians in the gap series anyway.

Finally, someone has the balls to say what I've always meant. Alot of the "power" behind Min comes straight from Dolphe, in the end. 8)

Agreed - Dolph seldom gets the credit he is due. He definitely belongs on my list, though I seem to have left him off the first time around. :?

You'd have to call Morn a hero--if it weren't for her, everything would have gone the Heck.

That other big Heros like Ward, and Angus--only redeemed themselves for their unlimited sins.

Of course Dolph, Vector, Min..and I like to think, Hashi-all played their roles--but the big three, would be War, Angus, andMorn--an like I said, though Ward got his hero's welcome, and Angus got his ship--the real thanks should go to Morn, after everything she went thought, she wanted to keep on surviving for just a little while longer.

If she'd given up, at any point, humanity would have been lost.
