I'm constantly reminded how great these old FF games are, despite their thin plots. I just had to get on board the Dreadnought, free Princess Hilda, and blow up the engine - and I did it all while Poisoned, Blind, and without using any magic (effectively eliminating one team member so I could save MP for healing). Love it when I just scrape through like that, heh. Great game. Great game.
You're right though, Nav - the random battles can become tedious, but in some cases (like the Dreadnought, where there are no other battles) they add to the challenge in a good way.

I started getting back into my all-time favorite game, Baldur's Gate II. My poor Xbox is being neglected, heh.

Yes, I found it in a little used games shop a couple of years back. It unusual, inventive, and fun for a while; but I found the endless cycle of go to the tower, leave, sleep, repeat wore thin pretty quickly. The interaction with the characters was the only thing that stopped it being utterly tedious. Sorry :P

When I was a wee kid I was all about the Oregon Trail... I would've played it constantly if I didn't need to eat (and if I didn't have kid pix :D ) I can't imagine sitting through that game now... Blaughh

Back on topic, Dungeon Siege: Legends of Arana is pretty chouettly for me right now.

Been playing Gladius on the Xbox. Too early to tell if this game is good or not. I'll be back with an update.

Sim City 4. I have yet to make a profit, at any time, no matter how mch I reduce my spending.

Edit - played again, and just about managed to hold it at 800 income, 760 output, so I think I'm finally getting the hang of it.
