No worries, dlb. Managed to see the trailer via a different link from Krilly.

Interesting to see that they're including clips from Episode IV in order to tie in to the "original" trilogy.

Looks fabulous! My wait for Episode III won't be quite as agonizing as the wait for Runes was, but I'm rubbing my hands in anticipation just the same. :)

May 19th, 2005!

My friend and I always see the midnight showing, and this one will be no different. We'll just have to travel farther, since we live 2 hours apart now.

I thought Spielburg did Indiana Jones.

I have no faith in Lucas anymore. I'm shocked by the kids who are saying, based on the trailer, that Ep3 will be better than Ep5. Umm... right. Did they watch Eps 1 and 2? They continue the downward spiral begun in Ep6, as far as I can see. The Obi-Wan stuff in Ep2 was actually very good, with the exception of Lord Tyrannus attempting to seduce Obi-Wan to the dark side, but the Anakin/Padme stuff... <wretch>

And the ending of Ep6 now, with the young Anakin's ghost.... So his life as a bad guy didn't happen, and he can just go back to being young and happy because it wasn't the same person who did the evil stuff? That's not the way life works.

Bleah.

I'll watch it, just because I have to. But I will be shocked -- though pleasantly -- if he does the story half the justice I think he should. I'm mainly annoyed at how much of a petulant child he made Anakin in Ep2... <sigh> Lord Vader deserves better. :)

Yes, Spielberg directed the Indy movies. Lucas was the producer.

A lot of people have lost faith in George Lucas, and that's understandable. There's no denying that I felt let down about the SW prequels, too, but I'm stubbornly loyal to the things I liked from my childhood...sometimes to a fault. :)

And I agree, Lord Vader deserves better. Hey, at least we finally get to see him back (er, for the first time) in all his masked glory come Episode III. 8)

I'm looking forward to it. I think Lucas is taking a lot of flack for it, but I still enjoy having a "historical" perspective on the issue.

Let down? Perhaps slightly, but I didn't really have expetations apart from getting to see the Jedi in more action, and learning more about the whole concept. Seeing where they came from, and how they fell (or were overturned).

As for Anikin being a "petulant child", I think that in a sense, he has to be shown like that. Afterall, this is part of the foundation for his "turning".

I really hope he does Episodes VII-IX as well. The main characters are still available as the original actors, (now "realistically" aged ;) ) and I think the potential is there to finish the story.

All criticism aside, I've still watched the prequels more than once each, and I'll certainly be watching them again.

Ah, see, I preferred to see Lord Vader as a tragic hero... Mainly good, but with a single flaw that drove him to evil. Didn't decide what that flaw should be. But arrogance (that's not even well-deserved -- despite Anakin's midichlorians <wretch>, yoda is a better force-user, a better lightsaber-wielder, etc.) wasn't it.

I would've been happier had he not complained so much about Obi-Wan until his mother was killed... That would have been a good trigger for his feeling that Obi-Wan holds him back, etc....

<sigh>

How do you have tickets already? I looked on Fandango and tickets are not yet available in my area.
