I like some of the digimon a lot. I have a few of my favorites in my funky fantasy display case.

Among them is Taomon, who I've never seen on tv, but how could I pass it up??? Lil' yin & yangs on his outfit!

You people got to be kidding me. That thing matches up with the quality of Pokemon.
hey now .. I like Pokemon too .. and Digimon for that matter

and Harry Potter is awesome!!
whats the problem with it? I see it as brilliantly done .. and genuinely JKKRowling at that .. being that she was heavily involved with the direction I believe

<could be wrong but i remember her being interviewed re: the movies>
the books are brilliant too!! read them to all my kids .. and they love 'em almost as much as we big folk do

Yep, we are all wild about Harry in our house too.
Legolas and Harry adorn my girls' bedroom walls..LOL!!
And the boys go around hexing each other...and they are all going to be Harry Potter characters for halloween.
I think we have a mini hogwarts over here.

Harry Potter is wonderful! Admittedly, at first I thought they were really lame kids books. But then when we joined the theatre, everyone there had read them and just raved about them, so I decided to try the first book and see what exactly was going on here. Book one read like any engaging kids book. It was cute, and funny, and I thought it was a great kids book. Then I read book two, which I didn't enjoy as much, but by the time I finished it, I was racing to B&N to get the third. And PoA cemented it for me. They are exactly as good as all my friends said they were.
I love how the story and the prose grow with Harry. OotP was, IMO, far more adult. Every book is darker and more mature than the last. I question whether these still fit into the juvenile category. Not that I wouldn't let my 7 year old read them all though, because like some other books (Narnia comes immediately to mind) a child could still read them for the adventure, mostly missing (consiously, at least) the more adult themes.

yes I agree!! and as much as I cant wait to see RotK at the end of the year .. I also cant wait to see Prisoner of Azkaban (sp?) .. and we all couldnt wait to get the Order of the Phonix ..
and to support the adult appeal factor .. Lord Trevor at work told of many round table discussions of OoP after it was released from all the fully grow'd muggles who had run straight out and bought and read it too!! LOL

I can't believe people haven't mentioned The Wizard of Oz, or Shrek, or Fantasia, or The Phantom Tollbooth, or...

The kid in me obviously wants some attention
