Cameron had that in mind when he made the film...High-tech military getting it's butt handed to it by a low-tech opponent.

But there ain't no tech as high as nature, eh? The Aliens are, imo, the toughest, nastiest creatures going. Trek's Species 8472 is maybe tied.

I agree, the Aliens are just flat nasty.

was it ever stated if they were natural or bio-engineered?

Ridley Scott viewed them as bio-engineered weapons.

i would like to meet the group who made them. and see what the test trials were like. the large species on the palnet in the first Alien, were they just a victim or the makers?

Well, since it's been established that the Predators use other planets' life forms to breed the Aliens for hunting purposes, maybe they're the ones who actually developed the Aliens in the first place.

But where was it ever said that the Aliens were bio-engineered? I saw the first three Alien movies, but it's been years, and maybe it was said in the 4th?

Ridley Scott said so in an interview, but that does not make it canon.

Makes sense to me. Reminds me of how the Kryptonian scientist created the Doomsday creature.

Yeah, I thought of that, too, and was considering mentioning Doomsday as the nastiest of all creatures. But since the stories involving him have been, by and large, pathetic, I figured I'd keep quite about it. :D

Darkseid owning Doomsday is a nice idea though...

As I recall Doomsday kicked Darkseid's ass.

Interesting. Darkseid was always one of my favorite villains.

the whole 4th World needs someone (like me, :)) to take it over and make it the big budget, grand statement it needs to be. tie in all of the Kirby stuff... Omac, New Gods, Hercules, Kamandi and have a great metastory.

You guys nuts? Didn't you see the part where they were like, SLICE, and then BOOM BOOM BOOM, and everybody was all "uuuuhhhhhhh"

Man, that was classic!!!!

 admittley the Predator was cool in some party - mainly the bits where he stabbed an alien in slow motion ;) - bt i just felt it was so stupid. You knew the woman was going to survive, you knew the rich old guy would die.

Too predictable.

Oh and the flashback bit was pretty good, seeing the Pred's as Gods.

But otherwise it was a complete waste of a dvd.
