ur-bane, that's a good idea about the krill.
I think Linden will go to Andelain to quest for the krill... but horror of horrors, it's not there! What will they do? Skurj are attacking and the whole place is going down in flames! All hope seems lost as our heroes flee for their lives, but then the Giants appear...
I doubt that's all that's to it, though.

Interesting possibility...

Sure, but it seems that SRD is out to turn the Land upside down...Haruchai Masters, the Fall of Kevin's Watch...(still what sticks most in my mind)...helpful Ur-Viles, No health-sense, Demondim, TC "alive" somehow..still don't trust that...
The only thing that seems to have remained constant is the Ramen/Ranyhyn. Evil (or even unhelpful) Giants would just be another blow.

Hmmm, don't speak too soon!
I can see possibilities in the Ranyhyn and Ramen having power whereas before they have been victims. The Ramen are allied closely with Linden who wields power and I can't help but still see a connection between the Ranyhyn and the Caesures or the laws or corruption of laws that allow them to be.
The Ranyhyn have more than a little mystery about them and whilst that has been seen as wonderful and benificent, it is still power and power can or at least, can be corrupted.
The Giants, I posted before, might come to the land as refugees, their home destroyed; Coercii on a grand scale. Perhaps they will be offered a home in the land, then they too will take the opposite role from their predecessors of not being lost or unhomed. How about refugees prepared to TAKE land to make a home...where will all that fit into the theories of cataloguing current events!
Oh My!!!

A Giant vs Haruchai? An interesting match, to be sure.
It only took three Bloodguard to kill a Giant-Raver, remember -- which means that it's not unreasonable to assume that a single Haruchai could beat a single, non-Raving Giant.

Question about the Ranyhyn... since they never appeared - to my memory - in the Second Chronicles... does TC's bargain still apply to them? Was it ended when he defeated Foul in TPTP? Or are they still bound to come if he calls?

I do believe that you are correct. Although, if the Ranyhyn are allies anyway (as Runes bears out), I'm not sure how much it matters from a practical standpoint. On the other hand, the Ramen revere Covenant and Linden because, if anything, they have spared the Ranyhyn rather than expended them. The more the Ranyhyn are endangered by helping Covenant and Linden, the less unquestioningly serving the Ramen will become.

I see a lot of good material just getting these groups together again.
The Haruchai.
The Ramen.
The Giants.
The obvious allies are the Giants and Ramen.
The two constants in the Land-verse.
The Haruchai have changed quite a bit though they won't admit it.
They are not going to be allies with the Giants this time around, imo.
And could a Giant beat a Haruchai?
It depends.

Or a released Sandgorgon. One snapped Honninscrave (was it him?) like a twig!

I do believe that you are correct.
I have been corrected in another thread. Covenant released the Ranyhyn after learning of his own complicity in their near extinction, in TPTP.

Ah... because they refused to leave the Land out of service to him, yes? It's all flooding back now.
