Greetings to my fellow Donaldson fans! I first read LORD FOUL'S BANE when I was sixteen back in 1981, and while I didn't take to the Thomas Covenant character in any traditionally positive way (I pitied him for being a leper but despised him for what he did to Lena) I was very inspired by the health and beauty of the Land and the generosity of its inhabitants. I became appreciative of Covenant as well when he came to his personal turning point of risking his own health in saving the snake-bitten little girl. I love the short stories and the Mordant's Need books also. Currently I am savoring the final chapters of THE LAST DARK, and will be interesting in reading what others here think about it, once I am done. Greetings and best wishes to everybody! I've been visiting this site for a few years and have really enjoyed all the insights. Thank you!

Snow
Snow is the lyrical dust and codex of mirrored guitars. Fear is always there, always approximately in my knowledge. Have you counted the order of the dog sleds in the snow? Drivers are drilled out, spectators are questioned briefly. Why worry if you possessed it so? Did you hear waiting children at the door? You end disadvantages of it, as I heard, even internal. All locked in with the wind at the door. All this snow was meant for you. I plant circles in the sky and I will swallow mirrors. Snow is the bitter and ugly force of gravity. Try calling my brother, he holds the keys. I meant it more often than not, so why volume it so? If you hear children at the door the control room also hears them. What were your thoughts that you would intend to abandon me? Why would everything vanish, with us inside an empty room? The art of the poets was included in all of this snow feeling. We carry our thoughts with us, ready to surrender our knowledge.

Another quickie from Wiki:
The term “alter ego was first coined by Cicero, a Greek philosopher during the first century AD. In Cicero’s work, he describes this philosophical construct as “a second self.
Causes Sometimes it’s easier to choose a celebrity, because you are already aware of the traits they possess, rather than trying to make someone up from scratch. What purpose does an alter ego serve?
An alter ego serves many different purposes. First, it allows a person (not specifically only authors) to escape from reality.
In fact, some experts are beginning to recommend consciously creating an alter ego to help people overcome their fears or difficulties in their life.
