Goofy video, but proof positive that Jimmy Page is the greatest guitar player that ever lived.

Sorry about starting a new thread when this one already existed. I'll start putting stuff in this one.

This is pretty trippy. Ozric Tentacles. They have much better songs, but this one is a recent performance.

Drew, that was some incredible drumming. That guy's amazing. Does he play in a "real" band?

Okay, some more Victor Wooten. Watch the whole thing. It has several differnet parts, using a nice palette of techniques. I love the harmonics version of Amazing Grace, and how he can play two melodies at once.

Here's the whole band (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones)

hey...if you copy your "cool you tube" stuff posts into this thread, i'll delete that thread and all will be nice and tidy!

cause lets face it....i don't often get a chance to do modly things in Vespers!!!

oh...ps...when i lived in Lex, back in the 80's, guess who i met in Woodland Park. Bela Fleck. yup. he was, at the time, playing in a band called Spectrum and they were playing out at the Post Lounge. he and bass player Mark Schapp or Schatz or something like that were walking in Woodland Park and i happened to be out there with my guitar just practicing. cool huh. i haven't seen him since that time but several times have wanted to go to a show and send him a note back to say hi.
thought it would be too goofey tho so never have.

anyhow, if you want to give me some modly work to do, copy your posts and i'll delete the duplicat thread.

[Copying my posts for Luci to delete.]

First up is my favorite guitarist. If you don't like jazz fusion, you're going to be confused. You might need a second listen. This guy is an alien from another world. The melodies he comes up with are unreal. There's more of his stuff on You Tube. But check out this tidbit:

Here's another with Holdsworth on guitar in Bill Bruford's band. An-oldie-but-fuckin-awesomey.

Some Crimson. They look like hell, but they can still rock after 30+ years. Adrian Belew in particular looks like he just kicked his bi-otch out of bed, threw on a wife-beater, and left the trailer park to do a show. But you gotta be happy . . . it's "new" KC.

They'll repeat the chorus for you if you don't get it. Very Happy

A rather long one:

Okay, last Allan Holdsworth for now. His solo doesn't kick in until 3.5 minutes, so hand in there!

Sorry, I somehow missed the sticky thread about Youtube! Luci, feel free to move this if you want.

Anyway, here's the best bassist on the planet. And no, he is not a one-trick pony. Finger tapping barely scratches the bass strings. Enjoy!

That's my SECOND fave cover ever! And there's not alot in it. But I liked J+MC better than Cure. And Pixies a bit more than Dinosaur Jr. Got the 7" single of DJ's just like heaven upstairs sometime - I remember the first time I played it, I thought I'd got a dud one because of the rather abrupt end!

Some Sugarcubes....

And just because I was watching the film last night, and because it's bjork, and because it's GLASTONBURY.....
