Because she's a Babe, I like the fact that the cities of Jove and myself are nearly indistinguishable by color.

Also: people have their own agendas.
I'm at a loss. What are you talking about?

You complained, only a little while before I posted that, that noone had spoken to you about not trusting Nor Yekith. it was in the other topic, but my response was out of character, so I posted here.

Ah. Well, if you're not going to show any sign of agreeing with me about what I consider to be a huge threat to Eiran, don't be upset when I think you don't see it as a threat.

As I implied, if you consider it so obvious that he is a threat, one would think you would assume we see it also. But one must play the game, and one cannot antagonise another simply on a perceived agenda, especially if one believes oneself unready to make enemies.

What amuses me is that Bhakti is over exaggerating the whole issue. I'm made out to be some great threat, when I'm not. I've had many gods contact me stating they think I am spreading the plague, when I have not done so. Why would I when I would risk the entire pantheon uniting against me?
((out of character: I'm trying to act outside of the cliche here, guys)))

Your actions have definately protected Queeaqueg up until now. I note that he failed to both failed to sign your treaty and made his first open move against one of us in the same season. Strangely coicidental.
I do not trust you Nor Yekith, but I am not foolish enough to believe that you would be the only threat in all of Eiran.

You make patterns where none exist. I am annoyed that he neglected to sign the treaty, but that does mean your suspicions should be raised. The treaty had a genuine purprose - one of which was to alleviate any concerns Chisi La'Roo might have. But note that if he is attacked I am under no obligation to help him; the treaty would have ensured that.

I understand and accept your mistrust. But yes, there are other threats - but I am not one. My intentions are elsewhere.

It is not better for nobody to speak out against evil, and for all to assume someone else is taking care of it. As I am the one who, after agreeing to
not act in
his lands, had his lands invaded and children kidnapped, it fell to me to speak out and warn all. Nobody has the Power to fight him alone. If I was going to make assumptions, it might be that, since my position is so clear, anyone planning to act against him would ask if I was willing to add my Power to the attempt.
Murrin wrote:But one must play the game, and one cannot antagonise another simply on a perceived agenda, especially if one believes oneself unready to make enemies.
I never wanted to have any enemies at all, and I never did anything to provoke anyone. Alas, I was not given a choice. An enemy forced himself upon me. And I will not now sit back, remaining silent, hoping he will forget I am here. Nor is his agenda "perceived." He forces mutations upon his own people. One whose Love for him is great enough that I felt it is turned into a hideous, pain-ridden womb. He kidnaps my children, and says they may be killed, or enslaved. I'm not seeing a lot of room for interpretation here. And I'll bet you wouldn't either if
your followers were kidnapped by him and Xar-knows-what done to them.

As you say. I will continue to withhold my trust for the present.

I was going to post something today, but at two pages long I'm still only halfway, so it'll have to wait for tomorrow evening.
I'm wishing now that I had started it last week, like I was going to, instead of leaving it until after the moves were sent.

It's nothing interesting. Just happens to have a little of the backstory I'm building for Maeror worked in there.
On another subject, why does it seem like every matter of diplomacy falls to the Death aspect to arrange? I need to rethink Maeror's priorities. This was supposed to be about balance.

I should chime in about Alsanin. Until last turn, the map mistakenly marked it as free, just like Aldastrian, so I apologize if this created problems; however, Norn explicitly mentioned that Alsanin was hers in this very thread (page 17) after I issued turn 8, and Quee equally explicitly mentioned that Aldastrian was his during the same turn (page 18). So while the map mistakenly reported them as free cities, they were correctly claimed by deities in this thread.

It is done, and posted. I'm not entirely satisfied. But if you've ever wondered what my writing is like when I'm trying to do narrative, that's about it.
Also: Backstory hurrah! (And that's about as detailed as I'm going to get on the subject. The true events are lost, consigned to history...)
Edit:
It is, by the way, a full rewrite of a move submitted last turn. No facts have been changed, but it has been adjusted to conform with the events returned by Xar.
Stats:
Move as originally submitted: 600 words.
Move as posted: 1800 words; 3 pages.

So much is happening this turn, I'm finding it hard to keep track. So I've started keeping an 'actions' spreadsheet, to keep everything in some sort of order. It still gets confusing.
Here's how I'm arranging it:
Do the rest of you have things like this to help you keep track, or am I just strange?

No, but I think it is a great idea.

That was actually page two of my spreadsheet. I already have one with every god's rank, number of followers, increase in followers from last turn, and controlled cities on it. I use the sort function to see who's biggest and who's growing fast. (I'm in the top three for both. Yay.)
