Freshwater fish with an invertabrate. But I am not sure about the type of fish, however.

Agreed about the soothing part. Absolutely.

As for the snail infestation - my 20L tank has a snail problem, too. You can buy a product that disrupts the breeding cycle, and it's not expensive either.

Really. I need that. Although there's something also soothing about turning the tank light on in the morning...seeing all those snails there on the front of the glass and going SQUASH! I have been collecting some of them to put in my other tank as we have a 7cm yabbie who likes eating snails! CHOMP!

But they're a pain in the guppy tank--eating all the ferns!

I plan to train some of my fish to sacrifice snails at the altar in my Aztec pyramid. Since I created the tank, technically that makes me their god. I am hoping they will worship me.

Hmm...tetras swimming around minding their own business...huge black worm suddenly appears...FOOD!!!...

My favorite fish I ever had were South American Red Bellied Piranhas. They were really cool. I raised them from thumbnail sized babies and never got bitten nor was I all that afraid of getting bitten. They knew I was the food lady. They are very smart fish and can recognize individual people and they used to come out and beg me for food and they each had very unique personalities so I could tell them apart easily. Unfortunately I got a tank infection and was unable to save them. It was very traumatic. I did have them for a few years though and they were good years.

Went to my first cousin's wedding. Was a very nice ceremony; not overly long. The most frustrating part was the two hours before the event: a lot of picture-taking with the groom and bride. At one point we joked that he had a permanent smile from all the photos!

The dinner/reception after was great. Had some kind of lean pork slices with apple jelly. Spring rolls, carrot cake, an open bar (I got me some White Zinfandel). All in all a great time.

Currently just taking it easy today. Drinking a banana-blueberry chocolate smoothie.

went fishin' this morning. my fishin' buddy wanted to go back to this ugly spot where i know there is nothing worth keeping, so it was a bit frustrating. that'll be the last time i go there.

I'm checking in.

I just got back from Michigan a bit ago and am decompressing from the I-94 raceway south of Milwaukee. The weather in Michigan was great. Sunny and high 70's.

There was some things to do around the cabin Friday, so yesterday was the only day we got out to fish. We only got a few small perch. Couldn't find the walleye.

Now it's 240 miles south for me tomorrow morning. I've got meetings for work the next couple of days. I'll prolly check in from the hotel tomorrow after work.

got my pontoon boat reupholstered and put it in the water. That's my dog Molly up front. We call her riverdog because she loves the river so much. I rode around the lake all weekend, finished the benches on my pier, drank beer and smoked cigars.

Nice lake retreat, iQuest.

Reminds me of my grandmother's lakehouse near Lake Oconee. Always very peaceful there. Nice fishing too.

I plan on heading there sometime in July.

I was hoping to do something there if I can pull off a fall fest-- have everyone come to ATL then rent a bus and drive everyone over. My lake place is about 2 hours west, in AL, near Talledega where the race track is.

its my place to unplug my brain -- its just awesome. The lake is giant, and at night, you can float in the boat or lay on the dock and see the milky way and all the stars. I have an 8" telescope which I bring down to the dock sometimes.

Sounds like I'll need heavy duty bug spray, although to this Florida girl November in AL may feel cold, so perhaps no bugs. Should I see if I can find my camping gear? dAN, cheval, are we going? huh???
